Dear Parents,

Your student has access to hundreds of eBooks using OLV's subscription to Raz-Kids. Students can read, listen to, and even self-record reading these books. Reading comprehension quizzes along the way show the progress that your student is making. Teachers can view your child’s activity and progress.

Your student can access assignments on a computer, tablet, or phone. Raz-Kids books are also available on Android and iOS devices. Go to www.raz-kids.com/mobile for details about these devices.

Incoming second grade students are expected to log in to RAZ at least 3 days a week and read for at least 10 minutes each time for their summer reading program. Feel free to surpass the expected minimum time reading, if you so choose. Your child’s reading assignments are specific to his/her reading level. In the event that your child completes the necessary reading and is successful with the comprehension quizzes in the assigned level, he/she will automatically be bumped up to the next reading level.

Here is how to access the website and your child’s reading assignment from any computer connected to the Internet: 1. Go to www.raz-kids.com from your Internet browser and click on “log in”.

2. Type in the teacher’s username pmaslaka (Maslak), or jkreft0 (Mrs. Guirey) and click

”Go”.

3. Find your child’s name on the chart and click on that symbol.

4. Enter your child’s picture password (which was sent home on the last day of school).

Follow Your Student's progress:

See which books have been read, send messages, and review activity using our Parent Access area. Simply log in as your student, click the "Parents" link in the upper right, register, then follow the log-in instructions emailed to you.

Happy reading,

Mrs. Maslak
