Drink more juice
� Juice is everyone’s favourite drink.
� This is good news.
� Men and women at Kisharon are selling juice at 50pa cup.
� They are saving up for a holiday.
� This costs a lot of money. They need to sell lots ofdrinks.
� The men and women used carrots and oranges.
� They washed the fruit and vegetables.
� And used a juicer.
� The juice was very nutritious. And it tasted delicious.

New homes at Kisharon� Builders will start work in January at the Hanna
Schwalbe Home in Golders Green.
� The seven supported living flats will be ready bylate 2015.
� These pictures show how the flats will look.
� Each flat will have a bedroom and a bathroom.The kitchen and lounge is together in one room.
� Some flats have two bedrooms.
� The kitchens have an area for meat, and aseparate area for milk.
� Downstairs, there will be another kitchen and adining room.
� People who move in can eat their meals in thedownstairs room if they choose.
� There will be a succah for everyone to use.

Art for children� Kisharon Day School has a new art club.
� It starts when school ends. It finishes at 5.30pm.
� The children make something special each week.
� Netanel Mason is creating a forest in a box.
� There are plants and trees inside the box.
� The club was started by Jes Waldman, KisharonDay School Extra Curriculum Coordinator.
� She said: “The pupils see their brothers and sistersgoing to after school clubs. Now they can go aswell.”

Kisharon College � 12 men and women are the first students at
Kisharon College.
� It is at the Brenner Centre in Stamford Hill.
� The students finished school in July.
� Now they are learning to do thingsindependently.
� They will be taught how to cook and goshopping.
� There will be lessons on keeping fit and healthy.
� Kisharon is working with Hackney CommunityCollege to run the course.

� Kisharon Day School teacher Lyna Panas was afinalist for an award.
� It was the Jewish News Community HeroAward.
� Lyna took the students from Blue Class to Paris.
� She raised the money for the trip.
� Everyone at Kisharon wanted Lyna to win.
� Lyna said: “It was a great honour to be afinalist.”
� Here is Lyna with her husband Jack anddaughters, Sara, 4 years old, and Eliana 6 yearsold.

� Midreshet Darkaynu in Jerusalem is for women
with special needs.
� The Chanukah trip is for women aged between
17 and 23.
� An exciting programme of visits and events is
planned.
� Usually women study at Midreshet Darkaynu for
a year, but this is a shorter trip.

Chanukah, Tu Bishvat andmuch more
� Staff at Kisharon have been learning about the Jewish
religion.
� The first lesson was about Chanukah and Tu Bishvat.
� Lessons about Purim, Pesach and other chagim will be
next.
� Staff will also learn about milk and meat, kashrus and
shabbos.
� Supported living staff were taught first.
� But all staff will have lessons.
� Support Worker Kostas Mouratis and Afolake Adebanjo,
Manager at The Drive, were two of the staff given
certficates afterwards.

Making services better� Kisharon is helping to improve services in Barnet for
people with autism.
� Bee Adeyeba, Supported Living OperationsManager, and Hadassa Kessler, Supported LivingDevelopment Manager, went to an Adults AutismWorkshop.
� People from other organisations that support thosewith autism were there too.
� Parents and carers were asked to come as well.
� Everyone was asked about healthcare, housing andeducation in Barnet for people with autism.
� Other topics were covered, like crime, jobs, feelingsafe and getting advice.
� More people will be able to understand Kisharon'smarvellous work..
� This will make services better for people with autism.

� Yitzchok and Rifka were married and had no children.
� Yitzchok and Rifka davened to Hashem to ask for
children, Hashem answered their tefilos and Rifka
became pregnant.
� Rifka gave birth to twins, two boys born at the same
time.
� Eisov was born first, he was red in colour and covered
in hair.
� Yaakov was born straight afterwards, holding onto
Eisov’s heel.
� Eisov liked to spend his time in the fields hunting
animals.
� Yaakov was different. He liked to stay at home and
learn Torah.

� Ten men supported by Kisharon saw Jewish singing
star Yaakov Shwekey perform.
� He was singing in concert at the Troxy in London.
� Shwekey went on to sing in Paris, Brazil, Mexico
and Canada.
� The men saw the first concert in his Kolot tour. Kolot
is the name of Shwekey’s latest album.

� Brothers Joey, 8, and Daniel Tahan, 6, have
raised £150 for Kisharon Day School.
� They made figures using elastic bands on a
rainbow loom, and sold them.
� Young people use a rainbow loom to make
coloured bracelets.
� The money they raised will pay for a new basket
ball hoop for the playground.
� Their aunt is Lyna Panas a teacher at Kisharon
Day School.

� It’s because Chaim Dovid Rotenberg tells them.
� The times for Maariv and Shabbos that week are emailed to
Chaim Dovid every day.
� He prints out the times at Golders Green Library.
� Chaim Dovid tells the times to Kisharon Chief Executive Dr
Beverley Jacobson.
� He makes sure she puts the right Shabbos times in K-Comms.
� Chaim Dovid, who lives at the supported living house at The
Drive, helps with staff rotas.
� “This is a big job. It’s very helpful that Chaim Dovid does this,”
said Supported Living Development Manager Hadassa Kessler.
