He used deep shadows to make three dimensional.

Narcissus The man in this painting died by starving himself to death.

He died because he had a cast spelled on him that “the next person he see’s, he will fall in love with” and the next person he saw was himself. He saw himself in a pond and stayed there looking at his reflection until he died.
