What is GSM -R ? EIRENE Specifications & Services
� European Integrated Railway Radio Enhanced Network
� EIRENE UIC Project to develop specifications for and to facilitate the standardisation of the GSM-R railway radio communication system.
� The EIRENE UIC Specifications provide the framework for interoperability (for mobile communications).
� They underpin the EC Directives on the Trans-European High Speed Rail Network and the Conventional lines, along with other specifications being developed by the ERTMS User Group.
