Katzenpflege

Zahnpflege

Speziell zur Pflege der Zähne und des Zahnfleisches sollten Sie Ihrer Katze ausreichend Trockenfutter und Knabberreien geben. Reinen Hauskatzen kann zusätzlich Katzengras zur Reinigung der Zähne und zur Förderung der Verdauung zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Katzengras

Da es Katzen, die sich nur in einer Wohnung aufhalten, nicht möglich ist, freiwachsendes Gras zu fressen, werden oftmals andere Zimmerpflanzen oder Grünpflanzen angefressen. Das Erbrechen von Katzenhaaren ist eine wichtige Vorgehensweise, die meist nur durch dieses Gras oder auch Malz gefördert wird. Deshalb ist das Katzengras unumgänglich. Steht der Katze weder Malz noch Gras zur Verfügung, steigt die Gefahr, dass es zu potentiell lebensbedrohlichen Darmkoliken oder Verschlüssen kommt.

Taurin

Taurin ist für Katzen ein wesentlicher Nährstoff, da ihre Eigensynthese von Taurin zu gering ist, um ihren Bedarf zu decken. Katzen benötigen infolge der Tatsache, dass ihre Gallensalze ausschließlich mit Taurin gebildet werden, einen wesentlich höheren Anteil der Aminosulfon-säure, um den Verlust über die Ausscheidungen auszugleichen.

Katzentoilette

Für die Hygiene dient eine Katzentoilette, welche immer sauber gehalten werden sollte. Verrichtet eine Katze vor der Toilette oder woanders ihr Geschäft, ist sie meist durch die mangelnde Sauberkeit angeekelt.

Katzenstreusorten:

Biokatzenstreu: Es besteht aus natürlichen Bestandteilen (aus planzlichen Fasern, wie z.B. Holzstreu oder Tonstreu und Strohpellets). Es ist kompostierbar und 100% biologisch abbaubar, leichter und dadurch besser transportierbar. Geruchsbindend und ergiebig.

Grobkörnige Katzenstreu: Ist schwerer als andere Streuarten, damit fällt außerhalb weniger Schmutz an.
