Vanhunks was a Dutch pirate and explorer extraordinaire. Legend has it he retired to the Cape of Good Hope near the tip of Africa to smoke his days away on a mountain overlooking the ocean. Old Vanhunks had an encounter with a stranger dressed in a black coat and a wide-brimmed hat. The stranger turned out to be the Devil, and Vanhunks was challenged to a smoking duel to see who could smoke the other into a stupor.

Everyone knew that no one could out smoke old Vanhunks.

But the Devil, he tried. He tried with all his might to puff and drag his opponent to waste. But Vanhunks beat the Devil that day. And the Devil was a devilishly lousy loser. Losing made him furious. So he summoned up tremendous thunderbolts and frightening lightning and drove Vanhunks off into the tempestuous sunset.

Old Vanhunks was never seen again, but the puffy clouds of his billowing smoke fest return to that mountain now and again when the kite wind blows, and his legend lives on in quite a poignant way.

His legend also lives on in what we do. His competitive spirit, and his pursuit of victory over the elements, and triumph over challenges – those qualities drive what we do at Vanhunks Boarding every day.

Like our namesake, Vanhunks Boarding doesn’t take a challenge lying down either. We prefer it standing up on a SUP or a Twin Tip, whipping us through the sky.

Vanhunks’ Impi epoxy stand up paddle board is a firm favorite amongst the crowd due to the Impi’s stability, generous volume, and beautiful rail and rocker lines. The Impi stand up paddle board contains a single-to-double concave through the tail and the variable fin setup configuration.

Designed for small to average-sized waves, the Impi stand up paddle board has an increased tail rocker, and the single-to-double concave makes for easy carving down the line. Impi has a wide, stable stand up paddle board design that performs with unbelievable ease in surf conditions.

Impi’s volume is in the center of the stand up paddle board, giving you stability in choppy conditions, while Impi’s real beauty is in the rail and rocker line. The moment you take off on the wave and shift your weight to the tail of the stand up paddle board, the surf rail takes control for carving. The rails are also tapered which allows good rail to rail response. The double concave through the tail channels the water into two streams through the fins, for a smooth edge-to-edge transition—the combination results in a smooth, well-balanced surf.

The Induna Stand up Paddle Board has a fresh new look and design in the Vanhunks SUP family. We’ve made sure the Induna maintains its position as the most stable board in our range. The generous volume of this board makes it great for flatwater cruising and small surf.

New technology allows us to bring to you a remarkably versatile, strong, durable stand up paddle board to withstand the forces of nature.

Constructed with high-density CNC-shaped EPS foam, fiberglass, and thermoformed polyethylene fused together with ABS and PC ensuring the board is durable. The molded press system provides less weight and a watertight seal.

The Induna SUP board sports a rounded nose, which gives it more surface area. This, in turn, creates more stability and gives a better glide.

The Vanhunks BamBam is the perfect starter board for aspiring surfers of all ages. Available in 6’0, 7’0, 8’0 the BamBam soft surfboards built to take a beating. The rolled polyethylene bumper rails we’ve run around the edges of the board to keep you or your child safe while learning to surf.

BamBam’s bumper rails mean a softer feel with more forgiving falls, less bruising, and more impact protection. BamBam’s bumper rails make it safer for others in the water around you. In the event of a crash or if your board goes flying across the water after you come off of it, these soft surfboards’ bumper rails decrease the risk of injury to others while also enhancing shock absorption and buoyancy for you.

The bumpers rails are not only there for protection, but we duplicated the rail of our glass surfboard, to give you a real surf feel with a responsive surfboard under your feet. Surfboard rails run the full length of your surfboard on each side from the nose (or front) to the tail (or end). Surfboard rails are KEY to how the water will move around your surfboard when you are up on the wave.

The Bam bam range also comes equipped with FCS style fins that can easily be upgraded or switched to other FCS style fin models.
