Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five' (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya.

Day 4:7 th August 2018: Olpejeta /Lake Naivasha Breakfast at the camp then head for Lake Naivasha passing through Pass through Thomson Falls in

Nyahururu.

Thomson's Falls is a 74 m (243 ft) scenic waterfall on the Ewaso Ng'iro river, which drains from

the Aberdare Mountain Range. It is situated two miles from the town of Nyahururu in central

Kenya, at 2,360 m (7,750 ft) elevation. In 1883 Joseph Thomson was the first European to

reach Thomson Falls, and named them for his father. He was a Scottish geologist and naturalist

who was also the first European to walk from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the early 1880s. The

mist feeds the dense forest below. Visitors can view the falls from above, or there's a trail down

to the bottom of the ravine. Upstream from the falls is one of the highest hippo pools in Kenya.

Naivasha is a Maasai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the

characteristics of the lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy.

AFTERNOON VISIT THE HELL’S GATE NATIONAL PARK:

Arrival at Hells gate National park and proceed on with game viewing in this unique National

park – you will also have a chance to come out of your vehicles and walk down the gorge to the

hot springs and walk back up the gorge.

The park is famous for its hot natural geysers, spectacular looming cliffs and the "Hells Gate

Gorge". Visitors here may also camp at designated camp sites. Activities in this park also

include rock climbing, bird and game viewing.

You can do an optional biking and boat ride also through the park .

Evening Boat ride.

Take a boat ride with a popular and well versed Captain; Locally-born, the captain has a

detailed knowledge of the bird life and wildlife in and around the lake.

The views from the lake are superb – the dormant yet smoking Mount Longonot volcano, the

Aberdare, Mau ranges and a peek into Hell’s Gate.

Day 5 + 6: 8 th & 9 th August 2018 Lake Naivasha / Masai Mara Triangle

Breakfast at the Lodge then check out and drive to Masai Mara.

Watch the wildebeest migrations.

You are visiting Masai Mara to see the annual migrations which start from the month of June

and climaxes in the month of August before closing over to Serengeti towards the month of Oct

What exactly is the wildebeest migration?

The wildebeest migration is a dramatic story. It takes place within Kenya and Tanzania and is

the greatest wildlife show on earth. Between the open plains of Serengeti and the Masai Mara,

thousands and thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrate to greener pastures as seasons

change and circle of life and death continues. Predators closely follow the wildebeest migrations

waiting for an opportunity to strike weak prey as they make their way into different territories..

The most interesting part is when you watch them as they cross the Mara River. The first ones

to jump into the river are trampled upon to death by the following multitude. The dead animals

become a bridge over which all the other animals cross the river. The crocodiles feed on the

remaining carcasses for months.

starts to edge its way dip into the African horizon it will be the perfect opportunity to capture the

beautiful Mara landscape on film or video camera

Day 7+8: 10 th + 11 th August 2018: Maasai Mara / Conservancy Porini Lion Camp

NB: Morning transfer to Porini Lion Camp and taken over by the camp resident driver guide

Porini Lion Camp is located in the exclusive Olare Orok Conservancy which borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve and is home to an abundance of animals including the Big Cats for which the Maasai Mara is famous.The Camp is situated along the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river with some permanent hippo pools near the camp that has only 10 guest tents .The tents are very spacious and have private veranda’s along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private ‘space’ for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness. Food is excellent with home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the camp’s chef.The camp has qualified safari guides that enhance the experience by educating the guests about the flora & fauna and people of the surrounding areas.
