Space Bar

• The space bar is the longest key at the bottom of the keyboard.

• This key will make a space between to objects.

The Shift Key

• There are two shift keys on the keyboard.

• They are located on the right and left side of the keyboard.

• Holding the shift key, and pressing a letter key, will result in a capital letter.

• Holding the shift key, and pressing any other key, will result in the top symbols. (For example: Pressing shift, and 1 will result in !)

The Delete Key

• The delete key is located above the arrow keys, in the group of six. It is the bottom left key.

• This key is used to erase objects to the right of the curser.

The Backspace Key

• The backspace key is located at the top right corner of the letter section on the keyboard. It has this symbol .

• It has an arrow pointing to the left.• This key is used to erase objects to the left of the

curser.

The Enter Key

• The enter key is located at the right on the letter section on the keyboard. It has this symbol .

• The enter key is used to move the cursor down to the next line.

The Escape Key

• The escape key is located on the top left corner of the keyboard.

• It has a symbol of Esc.

• This key is used to cancel the current program.

Home Row

• Home row is the middle row of letter keys.

• The left hand should be on keys: ASDF

• The right hand should be on keys: JKL;

• By placing your fingers on these keys, it is easier to navigate around the keyboard.

Arrow Keys

• The arrow keys are located between the block of letter keys and the block of number keys.

• They are used to move the cursor up, down, right, or left.

Caps Lock Key

• The caps lock key is located above the left shift key.

• When pressed, the green light below the lock with capital A will turn on.

• When the light is on, all letters will be typed as capital, and all top symbols will be printed.

The Tab Key

• The tab key is located at the left side of the keyboard.

• This key is used to skip a “group” of spaces.For instance: lions [tab] tigers [tab] bears lions tigers bears
