Secret Museum TourLearn the secrets of the museum building! Where will the tour take you? That’s for you to find out on the day!

Tsuruta’s Ryukyu RoomHere’s a fun place to try making your own works of art!

10:00 – 16:30 Venue : 6th Floor Hall Let’s make a crown!Here’s a chance to create a crown like the Ryukyu kings wore, using paper. You can then take a photograph to record your achievement at the photo spot. Let’s make a fan!Draw, paint, and decorate the fan paper, attach it to the frame, and make your very own custom fan!

Special drum performance by the Ryukyukoku matsuri daiko Team TokyoPerformances at

13:00, 14:30, and 16:00 (each lasting about 20 minutes)

Ryukyukoku matsuri daiko Team Tokyois a creative drum group whose performances are based on Eisa, a dance and drum performance traditional to Okinawa, with the addition of karate kata.

Ryukyu Glass WorkshopMake your own candle, incorporating fragments of Ryukyu glass now being made on Okinawa. These glistening candles are the perfect craft for summer vacation!

The Special Kids Museum DirectorHow would you like to be the Special Director of the Kids’ Museum? Experience what it is like working at the museum, from greeting visitors to checking on the galleries.

Note: • All programs are conducted in Japanese.• Participation is limited to kids in elementary and junior high school. Guardians can observe only part of the programs.• Details are subject to change.

The galleries may feel a little chilly. Bringing along a jacket to put on would be a good idea.

How to make your reservation:Apply via the Suntory Museum of Art website【http://suntory.jp/SMA/】(Language:Japanese). Reservations will be accepted until Tuesday, August 7. If applications exceed the spaces available, a drawing will be held to select participants. Only those selected in the drawing will be notified, by a week before the Kids’ Museum day, that they have secured their reservations.
