Day 2 Following our overnight flight we arrive at KilimanjaroInternational Airport and transfer via road to Moshi townwhere we will check in to our overnight hotel where you canfreshen up and take in the amazing scenery of Kilimanjaroyoungest cones - Kibo. Whilst at the hotel there will be a fullbriefing before dinner to prepare you for the start of our trekthe next day, there will also be plenty of time to sort your kitso that you are ready for the off!

Day 3 After breakfast we head out for the 1 hour drive to the gatesof the Machame route where we will meet our porters andcrew before starting our climb. The first section sees usclimbing steadily through real jungle and it can become quiteovergrown in some areas and the floor is often muddy andwet – tonight’s camp is set at 3100m at Machame Camp.Trekking time for today is approx 5-7 hours

Day 4 Still making our way up through the forest this morning untilwe reach the steep ascent on the Shira Plateau where we aregreeted with stunning views of the mountain in front of usand behind we should be able to see Mount Meru. Tonight’scamp is set at 3840m at Shira Caves.Trekking time for today is approx 4-6 hours

Day 5 Today’s trek will see us climb to and trek at 4600m, noticeablythe landscape changes as we come around the southwest sideof Kilimanjaro. We will pass underneath the Lava Tower andthe Western Breach until we set sight upon our camp atBarranco Hut set at 3900m. To avoid altitude sickness today weuse the ‘walk high – sleep low’ code which helps aidacclimatisation.Trekking time for today is approx 6-7 hours

Day 6 This morning we start by going down the massive ravine ofthe Great Barranco, shortly followed by a steep exit up the wallof the Great Barranco. The terrain is mostly rocky and althoughit is not technical this part of the trek will be long andchallenging. Heading towards the Karanga Valley, (our lastwater stop before the summit) we pass underneath the Heimand Kersten glaciers. As we get closer to our camp at Barafuthe terrain turns to scree and tonight we will camp at 4600m.Trekking time for today is approx 7-9 hours.

Day 7 An early start helps us avoid trekking in the heat of the sun;we ascend steeply toward the summit glaciers. Still trekkingon scree we ascend quickly over a short distance. As the sunrises we should be at the crater rim, Stella Point (5750m). Wewill be welcomed with breathtaking views of the ice cliffswithin the crater and the views to Mawenzi and beyond aresomething to behold. Just an hour’s more trekking sees us atthe summit Uhru (5896m). We then descend back to Barafucamp for a well earned rest and some breakfast beforeheading down to the Millennium camp where we stay for thenight (3000m).Trekking time for today is approx 10-12 hours

Day 8 A more gentle trek today sees us head back through therainforest towards the Mweka gate, where we collect acertificate of ascent! We then head back by vehicle to thehotel in Moshi where you can treat yourself to a well deservedhot shower and a cold beer! Tonight we will have ourcelebration meal.Trekking time for today is approx 5 hours

Day 9 Essentially today is a free day which will allow you to furtherexplore the town of Moshi, do some shopping in the localmarkets and relax! Mid afternoon we will meet back at thehotel and from there, transfer to the airport for our flight backto Heathrow.
