THE OBJECTS OF
KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL
To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.
To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and
professional standards.
To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable
citizenship.
To provide through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to
render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism
which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and
goodwill.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one
community at a time.

Singing of America, Singing of O'Canada, Pledge to Flag of U.S., and Prayer
O'Canada is sung at our club as a tribute to Canada – as the first country outside the US to form a Kiwanis
Club. Kiwanis was limited to US and Canada from 1916-1962 when it then became truly “international”.
Canada is our sister Kiwanis land.
OH CANADA, OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND,
TRUE PATRIOT LOVE IN ALL OUR SONS COMMAND,
WITH GLOWING HEARTS WE SEE THEE RISE
THE TRUE NORTH STRONG AND FREE,
FROM FAR AND WIDE, O'CANADA,
WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE.
GOD KEEP OUR LAND GLORIOUS AND FREE,
OH, CANADA WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE.
The Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft and The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Charities meets the first
Thursday of each month – 6:00p.m. - Mayo Hospital Piscataquis Room ---all members are welcome and new members
encouraged to attend a meeting to see how the club operates.
