Conciergerie Breakfast CornerBeing a 100% Mauritian group, Indigo Hotels’ roots are anchored in the country’s cultural heritage. Our Conciergerie, located at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, has been conceived to showcase this proud heritage for guests.

As part of our exciting Independ-ence programme, all Indigo staff members will be celebrating Mauritius’ fascinating culture and history with their own contributions, participating in the talks and con-ference put together by Maya de Salle-Essoo , an anthropologist.

On 12th of March 2018, we mark 50 years of independence of our Motherland from the day it was proclaimed a sovereign state in 1968. Prey to successive waves of colonisation, its history relates to those of the many people from around the world. From being an unknown dot on a worldmap to have become the most strategic asset of the Indian Ocean, Mauritius has stoked the flames of superpowers to cross oceans, undergone wars for acquisition and homed a melting pot of multi-cultural diversity. These are all represented in our ‘Stella Clavisque Maris Indici’ motto. (Star and key of the Indian Ocean)

Our small island has stood tall and firm against the winds of change. Let us recall the long march towards independence, the struggle of our ancestors to secure freedom and the hard work of all citizens. Let us pay tribute to the small nation, which has united over the years, regardless of skin colour, race, religious beliefs and ethnicity, to help build a new Mauritius. The island has proven its greatness, whilst integrating the individuality of each, whilst retaining its authenticity.

The Indigo Group prides itself on holding strong values of respect, harnessing individuality and being emotionally

connected to further promote and strengthen the Mauritian community. We are a Mauritian group for Mauritian people to enhance our Mauritian society, be it throughout our people’s well being or economic contribution.

Above all, our commonality lies in our differences.

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast with a local cultural touch. Sip on energising sugar cane juice that you can have freshly pressed, while enjoying local cakes and pastries, available year round in all Indigo Hotel’s restaurants.
