Potluck DinnersWelcome to the Potluck Dinners at the Clubhouse! 1st is the Villa Resident Potluck, on the First Friday of each month at 5PM. Each Independent Living Resident attending should bring a side. The Main Dish is Publix Fried Chicken. 2nd Potluck is Chef’s Choice, on the third Monday of each month at 5pm. Chef makes the Main Dish; Residents bring a Side. If you are a First-Timer to either Potluck, you don’t have to bring a Side. Just bring yourself and enjoy the fellowship of others!

December is the month of celebration. In this wonderful country of ours we are allowed to celebrate the holiday of our choice. My favorite holiday is Christmas, the day chosen to celebrate the birth of Christ. I have learned there are numerous other December celebrations around the world. I think everyone knows that Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are also important December celebrations.  A few December holidays you which might not be familiar to you: 

•Diwali is the Festival of Light Celebrated in India. 

•Las Posadas is a traditional winter holiday celebrated in Mexico. 

•Hogmanay is a Scottish word which means the last day of the year. I had the pleasure of

celebrating this holiday when I lived in Scotland. It was quite a wonderful party. 

•Bodhi Day is celebrated by Buddhists. 

•Boxing Day is celebrated in Britain

Be sure to check the calendar so you won’t miss any of the events we have planned for you at Lake Forest Park. This year we will host our first annual Forest of Trees. Our health care partners will donate trees that we will display throughout our main building. On December 18th we will host a parade and party and auction the trees. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to Treasure Coast Advocates for Seniors. We will see you there. The Lake Forest Park staff and I personally want to thank you for making 2013 a wonderful year and we wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
