HOW TO EXECUTE THE FOREHAND VOLLEY In previous newsletters, I offered tips on how to hit a forehand

Step1:ReadyPosition:Thebodyisfacingthenet.Therighthandisholdingtheendof theracket ina forehandgrippositionandthelefthandisnexttotherighthand.Thelefthandisholdingtheracketslightlytighterthantherighthand.Feetareashoulderwidthapartandthebodyisinequalbalance.Forbeginnersitisokaytousetheforehandandbackhandgripsfortheforehandandbackhandvolleys.Astheplayergetsstrongerandtheballscomeatafasterspeed,itwillbebesttousethecontinentalgripforbothvolleys.

Step2:BackSwing:Sincethevolleyisusuallyexecutedwhenaplayer

Step4:FollowThrough:Oncetherackethasmadecontactwiththeball,thefollowthroughisveryshorttoallowtheplayertoimmediatelygetbacktothereadyposition.Theleftarmshouldbeclosetothebody.
