    A MOST DANGEROUS INTERSECTION

Lannon LanternAN UNOFFICIAL NEWSLETTERFOR LANNON, WISCONSIN 53046

    A LIGHT INTHE DARK

One of the most dangerous intersec-

tions in the county is at Town Line

Road and Good Hope Road. County

and Village officials had a meeting on

Wednesday, April 21 to discuss the op-

tions for improving the safety of the

    intersection. Most of the accidents

occur as traffic stopped on Good Hope

Road attempts to enter or cross the

intersection. Poor visibility of the traffic

approaching on Town Line Road con-

tributes to the hazard. When accidents

do happen, one or more of the vehicles

usually end up in a ditch or culvert on

the side of the road, making extraction

of the vehicle occupants very difficult.

One tree shows the deep scars of one

encounter. All drivers using this inter-

section should take extreme care anduse caution in this area. If you are rid-

ing a bicycle or walking on the east side

of Town Line Road and on the hill to-

ward Good Hope Road, it is particularly

    dangerous. Vehicles passing a bicyclist

or pedestrian tend to swing out across

the centerline to pass and this puts

them directly in the path of oncoming

traffic. The next accident at this inter-

section could be a fatality. Dont let it

be you or a loved one.

The snow is gone (hopefully), the birds

are building nests, the flowers are

starting to bloom and the sneaky yard

trash is now free to grow and multiply.

And in most cases, the trash can run

rampant. The battle has begun! What

is the battle plan? First, Get out those

large black trash bags (once you sub-due the enemy, you can stuff them in).

    Second, youll need weapons. For

    most homeowners, the favorite

weapon of choice is a rake. Brooms

and shovels come in handy too. A

pointed stick might work on some of

    the smaller combatants, but watch

out, they could turn it against you and

use it on your feet. After you win the

    Main Street on Lannon Road,

    our park features a lighted
