• MERCOSUR Adhesion Protocol established in Article 3 that Venezuela would have a period of four years to adopt the MERCOSUR Standards gradually.

• Venezuela has not yet fulfilled its 2012 transposition commitments. Thus, on 15 Sep 2016 Venezuela was denied Mercosur’s rotating Presidency and is now suspended.

• In the mean time, both Mercosur adopted resolutions and national Venezuelan Standard promulgated by SENCAMER (Covenin standards), are still enforced.
