The event took place in the Bamboo Room at the Upper Bucks Campus of BCCC. A catered reception followed the presentation of awards.
The Guest Speaker for the evening was Mark Horne, Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Grand View Hospital. Horne gave an interesting presentation on the hospital’s history and current state of operations.
Rhonda Tettemer, a previous program graduate, congratulated Sandra Snyder. Both work in the office of Senator Charles McIlhinney.

Twins Ava and Eliana Kligerman rolled away with a second and third place ribbon in the Least Hair category.

discussion on non-profit organizations.

Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania and its insurance subsidiary, Univest Insurance, Inc., announce the acquisition of Sterner Insurance Associates Inc., a full service firm providing insurance and consultative risk management solutions to individuals and businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley, Berks, Bucks and Montgomery counties. From a single employee in 1994, Sterner Insurance is now a 21-person firm that operates two offices in Lehigh Valley and Berks County and specializes in commercial insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, life insurance and business continuation planning. This acquisition marks Univest’s eighth insurance acquisition since the Corporation started expanding its financial solutions beyond traditional banking in 1999.
Firs t Savings Bank , through its Community Foundation, recently dona ted $3 ,000 to the Community Fire Company, No. 1. which serves the Riegelsville and surrounding area communities. Presenting
the check to Fire Company Chief, Todd Myers, is Sue Matthias, Branch Manager of First Savings’ Riegelsville Branch. Sue’s father, Joseph Chavar, was an active member of the Fire Company for more than 58 years having served in numerous positions. The volunteer fire company reminds everyone that the public is invited to attend their monthly breakfasts held at the firehouse, served the third Sunday of every month.

Grand View Hospital announced the opening of its Health and Wellness Center located at Genesis Fitness Centre in Harleysville. The new center offers outpatient physical therapy and nutrition services and provides added convenience for the local community and Genesis members. The center’s private area includes three exam rooms and a consultation room as well as access to the facility’s state-of-the-art fitness equipment. The hospital’s licensed physical therapists treat patients of all ages with a variety of sports-related and orthopaedic conditions while the registered dietitians provide nutrition counseling focused on an array of health issues and diet needs. B u c k International will be able to expand i t s c a p a c i t y t o serve children and families with special n e e d s t h a n k s t o the generosi ty of a F o u n d a t i o n s C o m m u n i t y Partnership Grant. F o u n d a t i o n s C o m m u n i t y Partnership awarded $8350 to support
families with adopted children and those with special physical and emotional challenges. Specific Pearl S Buck International programs that will benefit from this funding include Summer Culture Camps, Annual International Family Picnic and the Special Needs Family Day to be held on November 8 this year.

The board of directors of Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania, parent company of Univest Bank and Trust Co. and its insurance, investments and equipment financing subsidiaries, announced the retirement of K. Leon Moyer, effective January 1, 2015. Moyer will retire as president and chief executive officer of Univest Bank and Trust Co. and vice chairman of Univest Corporation after 43 years of service. Moyer will continue to serve on the board of directors for Univest Bank and Trust Co. and be elected on January 1, 2015 as a director of Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania.

Doylestown Hospital received the highest honor for heart
failure care for the fourth consecutive year from the American
Heart Association. The Get With The Guidelines®–Heart
Failure Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award recognizes the
implementation of specific quality improvement measures
outlined by the American Heart Association/American College
of Cardiology Foundation secondary prevention guidelines for
heart failure patients. Doylestown Hospital earned the award by
meeting specific quality achievement measures such as proper
use of medications and aggressive risk-reduction therapies.
According to the American Heart Association, about 5.1 million
people suffer from heart failure. However, many heart failure
patients can lead a full life when their condition is managed
with proper medications and devices and with healthy lifestyle
changes.
Grand View Hospital presented the 2014
Life of Volunteer Excellence (LOVE)
Award to Bing Miller. Miller has been
part of Grand View Hospital’s volunteer
program since 2011 and has contributed
more than 1,400 hours of service. His
volunteer hours are spent greeting visitors
at the information desk or driving the
golf cart. Miller was nominated for the LOVE award because
he has outstanding customer service skills. Visitors and patients
remember his friendly greeting and hospitality.
Doylestown Hospital recently awarded scholarships to
teen volunteers who are graduating high school this year.
The following students each received a Volunteer Memorial
Scholarship: Steve Day; Spencer Jayne; Alexis Lee; Chris Lor;
Anna Vollrath and Cary Zhang. In addition, several scholarships
were awarded in honor or in memory of certain individuals.
Blake Vuocolo, Theresa Milinovich Memorial Scholarship; Brynn
McGovern, Bonnie MacGregor Teen Volunteer Scholarship;
Matt Schnell, Stroup Scholarship; Catherine Senoyuit, Richard
A. Reif Culture of Caring Award; Bridget Snyder ,Patient
Transport scholarship; Joseph Postiglione, Volunteer Memorial
Leadership Award; Arushi Jain, Gift Shop scholarship; Katelyn
Miller, Threads of Care Award; Kristina Lewis, Barbara Wright
Memorial Scholarship. Scholarships totaling $346,250 have
been awarded to deserving teen volunteers since 1982.
Grand View Hospital Auxiliary presented the hospital with
a gift in the amount of $185,000 toward the five million dollar
capital campaign, “Well into the Future,” during the Auxiliary’s
annual meeting. Accepting the gift on behalf of the hospital
was Mark Horne, COO, and Jeffrey Landis, Esq., president
of the Grand View Hospital Foundation Board. The Auxiliary
also awarded more than $3,000 in scholarships to Grand View
employees and VolunTeens. Priyanka Baireddy and Samantha
Pregizer were named recipients of the VolunTeen of the Year
Award 2014. The Auxiliary supports Grand View’s efforts
throughout the community by raising funds to ensure the hospital
is able to continue its mission of making quality health care

Every third Sunday in September, hundreds
of people come to downtown Sellersville
to enjoy many beautiful paintings and crafts
created by local and visiting artists during The
Gallery of the Arts. On Sunday, September 21, from 12 noon
to 5 p.m., Main Street will be lined with talented artists and
crafters who come to display and sell their creations. Enjoy a

the Quakertown Band. The concert

Keystone Golf Outing on Tuesday, August 26, at the Talamore
