German courseLessons take place at ActiLingua Academy‘s school for adults 16+, a modern school

with bright, welcoming and tastefully furnished classrooms in a typically Viennese Art

Nouveau building. 10-15 additional classrooms are available next door at the ActiLingua-

Dependance Sacré Coeur. The school is centrally located in Vienna‘s embassy district

opposite Schloss Belvedere. The city centre is reachable in 15 minutes by public

transport.

The main emphasis is placed on improving written and oral communication skills in a

friendly environment, using both specialised textbooks and various electronic devices.

Each group is taught by two or three teachers per day in order to ensure more varied and

stimulating instruction, due to each teacher‘s individual teaching style, personality and

pronunciation of modern German.

German in AustriaThe language spoken in Austria is German. It is a correct and pure form of German, which is melodious and pleasant to the ear. At ActiLingua Academy you learn standard German according to a recognized curri-culum.

ACCOMMODATION

APARTMENT (year-round availability): Students are accommodated in a well-maintained flat, often shared with other ActiLingua

students. Meals: The use of a kitchen is included in the price. Common kitchen utensils and crockery are provided. Facilities: Single or

shared rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen. Cleaned once a week. Most flats are also equipped with their own washing machine

and TV or radio. Max. 20-40 minutes from school by public transport.

HOST FAMILY (year-round availability): Host Families can be childless couples, parents with schoolchildren or older people whose grown-

up children have left home. Meals: Students may choose between breakfast or half-board with a three-course lunch or dinner. Facilities:

Students have their own single or shared room. Students share the bathroom and the kitchen with their host.

STUDENT HOUSE (July-August): Accommodation in single, twin or 3 bed rooms in a favour ably located Student House, easily acces-

sible by public transport. Meals: Some student houses have a kitchen where students may use the stove and refrigerator free of charge

– students must provide their own crockery and utensils. Breakfast or half-board can be booked in some student houses.

Facilities: Most rooms have their own shower and toilet. Bed linen provided.

ACTILINGUA RESIDENCE (year-round availability): Close to school and city centre (10-15 minutes by public transport). Favourable

location next to underground U3, newly renovated, typical Viennese Art Nouveau-Building. The ActiLingua Residence offers well-
