...nearly half of young transgender people attempt suicide?
...many gender-variant young people hide their identity
completely due to fear of bullying and harassment?
This exciting and interactive full day course co-developed with
young LGBTQ+ people will help you develop your ability to
effectively support young people with their gender or sexuality.
During this training day you should expect to:
- Learn about a wide range of different identities and challenge
some of your own perspectives
- Understand some of the issues faced by LGBTQ+ young people in
every day life
- Engage in interesting and challenging discussions
- Listen to the voices of young people
- Develop your own practice
The course is suitable for: teachers, social workers, youth workers,
health professionals, counsellors, advice workers, learning mentors,
support workers, engagement workers, volunteer co-ordinators or
anyone that works with young people.
