Liberate came from a dream, a dream to help women find freedom fromabuse, poverty, low self-worth, cultural norms that cause harm and everyissue that inhibits us to live life and give love to others.

We have worked in the Dominican Republic and Haiti for quite a fewyears alongside a non-profit that focuses primarily on youth andfamilies. Over and over again we would see girls and young womenchange their lives to create a life with purpose free from the things thatharmed them yet would be pulled back into back into a destructiveenvironment because they lacked the resources to take care ofthemselves.

We wanted to do something more to come alongside and provide jobs tohelp them meet their basic needs. Jobs that would provide more than anincome but give them a purpose, value themselves and create the space tobecome who they were meant to be. This was the start of Liberate.

We have dreamt the dream to redeem the beauty from the destructionthat surrounds them.

Two years ago we decided to launch our dream into reality. It all beganfew dollars in the bank, two best friends, a miraculous support systemand a determination to make the impossible happen. These past twoyears have been an incredible journey, we have been so fortunate to beable to represent the idea of fashion having a purpose for good, ofcreating a business that creates positive change in the world, and creatinga brand we are proud to represent.

Life was designed to be lived to its fullest, full of challenges, joy, love and purpose. But the reality is that sometimeslife isn’t that easy, in every culture, location and societythere are things that hold us back from living.

Liberate was designed with the purpose to use fashion toenable individuals to live life. Nearly half the world lacksbasic food, shelter and clean water. 1 in every 7 people willgo to bed hungry tonight. There’s a simple a saying thatspeaks our purpose, if you feed a man a fish he will eat fora day but if you teach a man to fish he will eat for lifetime. We are in the business of teaching to empower freedom tolive life independently.

We want to provide freedom from: abuse, cultural normsthat cause harm, family issues, poverty, low self-worth, lackof resources, and the list goes on!

We are doing this by providing: hope, self-worth,independence, financial freedom, and the ability to dream;through jobs, training and mentorships.

We are also using fashion to be positive, beautiful, fun andencourage people to dream. We want to embraceacceptance and not judgement. We are using Fashion forthe opportunity to have the greatest joy of life which isgiving.
