LIGHT IN REAL WORLD
• Parts facing light source or illuminated• Part which is not facing light is dark
INDIRECT(GLOBAL) VS DIRECT ILLUMINATION
ADJUST LIGHT SOURCE
• Window>Attribute Editor> Hypershade light
• Create various light sources adjust quality of those lights
• Attribute Editor and the Channel Box
• Create a Maya light source
• Attributes adjust the light source
• Move a light source to another location
SHADOWS
• By default lights do not cast shadows in maya.
• You can specify which light cast shadows and choose which method maya uses to generate them .
• Ray tracing and depth maps.
• Control which objects casts shadows.
• For glows, halos or lens flares.
• Create light effects > create a light optical effect.
DIFFERENT LIGHTS AVAILABLE IN MAYA
• Create > Lights > Directional Light
• Create > Lights > Ambient Light
• Create > Lights > Area Light
• Create > Lights > Point Light
• Create > Lights > Spot Light
• Create > Lights > Volume Light
