LUC History

1971: established as Oppland College

1994: reorganised as Lillehammer University College

1995: Lillehammer Campus established, in the former radio and television center built for the 1994 Winter Olympics.

LUC Continuing Education

A Centre for Continuing Education was established in 1990 as a support unit for faculty engaged in developing distance education courses or using flexible teaching and learning methods. The Centre now serves both the university college and external institutions and has built up a recognised position within Norwegian distance education.

About 8000 students and 800 faculty and staff Network university with 6 campus Regional support and funding Gjøvik and Lillehammer UC – planning to merge

in 2007. Joint international office from Oct. 2004. Presence and service on both campuses. Cooperation on management,

strategies, agreements, activites for int. students, etc.
