After the software has loaded, a selection of available digital recorders is shown in the column on the Left.
Choose your preferred digital recorder by using the mouse to double click its name.

Use the calendar and “Start Time” selection on the left to choose the beginning time of the incident to download.
Use the calendar and “End Time” selection on the right to choose the end time.

If you need to do a test download from 14 days ago, just select the date from 14 days ago in the left calendar

Be sure to also set the date in the right “End Time” calendar to 14 days ago, so as not to accidentally download 14 days worth of video.
When downloading from 14 days ago please check that the “Start Time” and “End Time” chosen are ahead of the computer time shown at the lower right corner of your screen, to ensure you do not exceed 14 days.

The green bar indicates the duration of time you have chosen to download. This bar changes colour, and displays a message if the time you have chosen is not plausible, for example if the “Start Time” is in the future.
When you have finished with your time and date selection, Click on “Next”

Most users will just click “Next” at this point

The time taken to download will depend on 2 primary factors1) How much video you require2) The model of recorder fitted at your station

Looking carefully at this DVR selection shows 3 different models 1) The light grey icon representing the older recorder, launched in 2005 2) The same 2005 model of recorder with “Audio” capability (Usually used at sites with Help Points)
3) The black icon representing the new recorder, launched in 2011

2005 model. Typical download speeds are slow at around 5 to 8 Mbps. Downloading 1 hour of video from all 20 cameras should take around 1hour.

2005 model. Downloading from just 1 camera is not much faster as the download speed drops to between 1 and 3 Mbps.
Downloading 1 hour of video from 1 camera should take around 15 minutes.

Owing to a manufacturing limitation the 2005 recorder with audio is extra slow when downloading.
2005 Audio model. Typical download speeds are 2 Mbps, downloading 1 hour of video from all 20 cameras should take around 4 hours.

The new recorders launched in 2011 are typically much faster. Typical download speeds are between 50 and 200 Mbps, depending on installation.
2011 model. Downloading 1 hour of video from all 9 cameras should take between 40 seconds and 6 minutes.
