The RIDI LINIA DECO luminaire family
VLDGT/VLDGTA – Continuous lighting system LINIA DECOThe continuous lighting system is connected from one gear tray to the next by an 8-core connector. The 8-corethrough wiring with its 1.5 mm² cross-section permits the following switching arrangements: Standard mains L1-L2-L3-N-WStandard mains L1-L2-L3-N-W + control cable DA-DAStandard mains L1-L2-L3-N-W + substitute power supply EL-ENStandard mains L1-L2-N-W + substitute power supply EL-EN + control cable DA-DAAt the start and end of a one or two-length luminaire unit, 8-core plug-and-socket connectors are prefitted in theluminaire end elements for simple, convenient electrical connection to the following luminaire. Electrical and me-chanical connection take place in a single process without the use of tools.
VLDF – Batten system LINIA DECOA highly minimized batten cross-section featuring aconnector block without integrated through wiring, pri-marily designed for single mounting and for directmounting of fixing surfaces, but also suitable for pen-dant mounting.

Combined with a modular range of opticalcontrols engineered to the same high designstandard, this is a product capable offulfilling even the most demandingphotometric specification.The series is also prefitted as standard withmultiple-core wiring for light controlalongside Digital Addressable LightingInterface (DALI) control devices. The patented design of the trunking andgear tray profile reduces the number ofcomponents and makes a major contributiontowards minimizing installation times.
RIDI LINIA DECO is available in a singleluminaire version and as a continuouslighting system. The same optical controland accessory components can be used onboth versions.
The RIDI LINIA DECO continuous and battenlighting system series from RIDI is totallynew in terms of both technical configurationand styling.The designer based his concept on thecustomary industrial continuous lightingsystem standard, creating a product whichis ideally suited for sophisticated surfaceillumination in sales showrooms, exhibitionsand office rooms and which provides agraceful lighting focus in interior designs ofparticular architectural merit.
The patented gear tray system without gear tray insert permits the integration of electrical control gear directly intothe trunking without the need for an additional tray insert. This cuts down on the number of components required,number of mounting steps and also packaging, and makes DECO quicker and easier to install, as well as savingcosts.
The highly minimized luminaire cross-sectionEchoing the slender styling of the T16 lamp, the lumi-naire system RIDI LINIA DECO has been designed with ahighly compact, minimized luminaire cross-section. Theoptical control products, which can be used for the oneand two-lamp length version, have also been designedto suit the proportions of the T16.

The luminaire colours:The luminaires are supplied as standard inwhite and silver grey.To allow the product to blend completelyinto any room design, interior designers maychoose from a range of additional colours.
The luminaire system:This luminaire system encompasses twobasic models:§ The VLDF batten series for predominantly
single installation§ The VLDGT continuous lighting system for
continuous rows of luminaires.The same optical control, fixings andaccessories are used for both models.However, the gear trays are distinguished bythe following features:
Luminaire styling:This luminaire family has been designedfully around the proportions of the new T16(T5) lamp. Minimized product componentssuch as gear trays and optical controls lendthe luminaire light and graceful appearance.The designer has skilfully succeeded inintegrating all technical elements whichwould detract from the clarity of the stylinginto the product components themselves. Itsclassical and uncluttered appearance makethis a product which will blend perfectly intoalmost any room design.
Gear trayThe gear tray profiles are available in one or two lamp lengths and are made of galvanized white / silver syntheticresin coated steel. Batten series VLDF is only available in a one-lamp length version, gear tray VLDGT a one ortwo-lamp length version. Inset functional end caps in the same colour as the luminaire carry the lampholder and,in the case of the VLDGT model series, also the plug and socket connectors of the 8-core through wiring. All thelamp control gear is integrated in the gear tray. The fixing clamps of the various fixing kits clip into the profilegroove running along the top of the gear tray.
Through wiringThe gear trays of model series VLDGT come withprefitted eight-core through wiring 1.5 mm² terminatingin a plug and socket connection at each end of the geartray. Core selection is possible by simply replugging thecable at the easily accessible connector block.

Luminaire body VLDF:This product is an exceptionally narrowlighting batten with connector block butwithout prefitted through wiring. It ispredominantly suited for single installationand for direct mounting on the fixing surfaceas well as for pendant mounting. However, itis possible to create continuous lightingsystems with this product by positioning in arow.
Luminaire body VLDGT:As a luminaire body with one or two lamplengths and pre-fitted 8-core through wiring,this product is a classical continuous lightingsystem for pendant mounting from the roomceiling or direct mounting on room surfaces.A special electrical plug system at the endsof the gear trays permits simple, time-saving inter-connection of luminaire bodies.A varied range of fixing accessories opensup scope for flexible installation of theproduct.
Decorative end caps:Decorative plastic end caps coloured white /stone grey can be used on gear trays VLDF /VLDGT and reflectors VLDR, forming adecorative finish to the ends of singleluminaires / continuous lighting systems.
Mains connection In the VLDF series, a connector block 3 x 2 x 2.5 mm² is provided for mains connection. Cable entries are locatedat the top of the gear tray. The continuous lighting system is connected to the mains through the connector geartray VLTGTA, which features terminals allowing connection for a maximum 2 x 2.5 mm² per core.
Fixing accessoriesThe top of the gear tray is prepared to accommodatethe various fixing kits. A sturdy spring clip provided inthe fixing kits can be clipped simply into the top of thegear tray without the need for tools and variablypositioned in the lengthways direction.
Gear tray coverIf the luminaires are operated exposed withoutreflectors, a gear tray cover VLDGA… must be used tocover the electrical gear. When using reflectors, thegear tray cover is not required.
Decorative end capsThe functional end caps must be closed at the start andend of the mounted single luminaires or continuousrows of luminaires using a decorative end cap.

The required PC software canbe downloaded from the Ridi websitewww.ridi.de.Intuitive menu prompting guides the user tothe necessary inputs. As a result, a bill ofmaterials containing all the necessary com-ponents is produced with calculation of thegross prices.

Batten VLDF ...-EVG, VLDF ...-SI-EVG for T16 lamps
Batten: Rigid, profiled steel gear tray. Both sides coated in white or silver synthetic resin. Inset plastic functionalend caps which carry the lampholder. At the top of the gear tray there is a groove for external through wiring. Thereis an additional cable entry at the top of the gear tray.The batten is supplied complete with cover and plastic end caps. White finish with gear tray cover and end caps inwhite. Silver finish (SI) with gear tray cover and end caps in dust grey RAL 7037.Can be combined with reflectors, see accessories.
Luminaire mounting: suitable for direct mounting on normal inflammable materials. Simple, low-cost one-man in-stallation through key holes in the top of the gear tray. For pendant mounting, the fixing kits shown under Accessories can be used.
Note: Luminaires with MM symbol are suitable for furniture mounting. Models without an index are not suitable.

Gear tray VLDGT ... for T16 lamps
Gear tray, 1-length, 1-lamp with 1x socket, 1x plug and 1x mechanical connector.

Continuous lighting system: With an extremely narrow cross section for exposed operation or combination withoptical controls (reflectors).
Gear tray, 1 and 2 length:Rigid, profiled steel gear tray. Coated in white or silver (SI) synthetic resin. Inset plastic functional end caps whichcarry the lampholders and socket connectors for the through wiring. 8-core 1.5 mm² through wiring is already pr-efitted in the gear tray. Prefitted multiwatt EVG.
Gear tray cover: If the luminaires are to be used without reflectors, the gear tray cover VLDGA must be used tocover the electrical components.
Gear tray end cover: When the individual luminaires or rows of luminaries are mounted, the functional end capsat the start and end must each be closed by a gear tray end cover VLDE.
Mains connection: Mains connection for continuous lighting systems takes place via a connecting gear trayVLDGTA, which can be positioned at the start or end of a continuous lighting system, but also between two lumi-naires. Prefitted terminals 8x2x2.5 mm² and plug-and-socket connections for connection to additional VLDGT ...gear trays.

Chain fixing VLDHKfor VLF/VLDF/VLDGT. Sturdy spring clip in spring steelwith steel chain swing hook, galvanized. Clip can be adjusted lengthwise for variable fixing distances. Admissible load 15 kg, 1 pc.
