The better Housing in a cityTerraces- were quite
nice places to live compared to cellars and tenements
• Single ends- Within a block of tenement's at the end of the building.
The worst house’s in a slum • Tenements- flat’s
often small and cramped.
• Close- Close ally way’s with a dead end
• Cellars- are terrible cold, damp & dark places to live.
Diseases
• Cholera• Can kill in hours• First you get a violent stomach ache, then
you’re sick and you have diahhorea then they collapse and go cold the pulse goes weak the skin turns blue and then they died
• 40 to 60% of victims died
Sewerage Systems
• Most streets just had a privy at the end of the street shared by all in the street it became a cess pit this is a breeding place for germs.
• Unless you were rich then you had a proper toilet.
