Russia: In a battle of man versus machine ourLLumar PrecisionCutTM System (PCS) yielded a40% savings in installation time over a traditionalhand-cut installation! The test was arranged incooperation with Ford Russia to identify the economic advantages of the LLumar system.

The challenge: An independent installer completedtwo installations. He applied a competitors productusing standard installation methods on one car andapplied a LLumar pre-cut kit onto a second car. Thetwo cars used in the test were Ford Focus II 5-doorhatchbacks.

The results: It took 1 hour, 49 minutes to tint the carusing traditional installation methods and 1 hour, 5 minutes using the LLumar pre-cut kit. The testyielded a time advantage of 44 minutes with theLLumar pre-cut kit. Turkey: Ucler, our LLumar distributorin Turkey, recently participated inTurkey Build 2006, the largest exhibition of its kind in the country.Traditionally an automotive film distributor, Ucler is now breaking intothe flat glass market. Martinsville: Since December 2002, the WorldFood Program has had a non-exclusive LongTerm Agreement with CPFilms for the supply ofsafety/security film for their WFP buildings andvehicles. Although a plotter could not be present atthe show, the concept of pre-cut film was clearly illustrated in asimple display showing a reduced-sized film kit along with productliterature. This allowed viewers to see how a PCS pattern comesoff of the plotter.

Situation: With the increase of terrorist threats, safety has become a top priority for building owners and tenants alike. The developer of the Cathay Financial Building wantedto find a way to protect his high profile VIP tenants from the danger of broken glass. Banks,financial institutions and an embassy are housed in the 24 floor building. The developersought a quick, cost-effective alternative to glass replacement.

Solution: Since time was of the essence, the building's developer selected LLumar safetyfilm to reinforce the glass. LLumars optically clear 100 micron film holds glass together in the event of breakage, protecting tenants and people on the street from hazardous flying glass shards. Because LLumar is available in widths up to 72 (1.829m),none of the windows required splicing.

Results: After the installation, the developer commented, I was very impressed by the professional installation and quality of the film. It is so clear that it virtually disappears onthe glass, yet I know it is there offering protection to my tenants. Situation: The McDonald's restaurant is situated in the very center of Moscow. It is a popular place where people have lunch or just spend free time with their families andfriends. In view of frequent acts of terrorism and vandalism the management of the restaurant realized it was necessary to take steps to protect their guests and their property.

Solution: The local LLumar dealer proposed installing an 11 mil safety film (SCLSRPS11)with brilliant optical clarity and scratch-resistant coating, because it would provide a clear butpowerful barrier of protection. The original glazing combined with this type of film reducesthe effects of an explosion because it protects people and property from flying glass shards.

Results: Within hours, the installation of LLumar safety film on glass produces a shatter-resistant, non-splintering glazing system, providing immediate protection for people andproperty. Reinforcing traditional glazing with a retrofit film product is significantly less expensive than glass replacement. India: Glasstec India, a business to business exhibition intended for architects, designers, technicians, manufacturers, and contractors with aconnection to the Glass industry, presented the perfect opportunity to promote both LLumar and theSolutia range of PVB interlayers for laminated glass.

The exhibition coincided with a two-day seminar, atthe same venue, on various topics relating to glass.The seminar was opened by India's leading architect and featured a large number of high-profileinternational speakers.

Our distributor in India, Gras Impex, took the leadon designing the LLumar section of the booth. Itfeatured three display units, each containing threedouble-sided display panels. Each unit was used todemonstrate products/information relating to a particular applicationsolar control, safety andsecurity, and decorative.

In addition, the stand featured a large flat screenwall mounted television for video presentations; a clear panel of flat glass for installation demonstrations; and a desk and separate seating area for discussions.

Although not particularly large or spacious, the standspace was used very effectively. The layout encour-aged visitors to look, learn, and make inquiries.

All visitors were given a small literature pack in a LLumar branded bag with a small LLumar give-away. Each visitor was logged manually on a writtenvisitor inquiry sheet and classified immediately byimportance for future follow-up.

It is too early to tell whether the exhibition has beena success in terms of generating new business. Gras Impex will continue to monitor progress from allleads received at the show. However, in terms ofraising the profile of the LLumar brand in India withinthe glass industry, the impact has been immediate.

Situation: At nearly 6 million square feet, Incheon International Airport's 46-gate terminalis South Korea's largest building. The Passenger Terminal Building incorporates a designthat pays tribute to traditional Korean architecture. While the Transportation Center formsthe hub of the airport. Both building contains many glass balustrades. Even though thebalustrades were made of tempered glass, airport authorities worried that glass breakagecaused by baggage carts could harm passengers.

Solution: The airport authority selected a clear interior and exterior LLumar 4 mil safety film (SCLSRPS4 and SCLERPS4) to cover the balustrades and the curtain wall of the transportation center. The film holds glass fragments in place in the event of accidental breakage providing an invisible layer of protection that does not alter the architectural design.

Results: The airport authority was very pleased with the installation. There have been noinjuries or accidents caused by glass breakage. LLumar safety films are working to protectairport employees, passengers and property. The authorities also mentioned they werevery impressed with LLumar's capabilities in terms of technical information provided by thedistributor as well as product quality and installation.

Indonesia: LLumar SCLSRPS7 safety and security film was recently installed on several StarbucksCoffee outlets in the capital of Indonesia - Jakarta. With LLumar safety and security film, customersand staff are protected from the hazards of broken glass. This installation is an excellent example of a market opportunity that exists throughout the world to complete multiple installations under onecontract. Vietnam: LLumar is expanding in Vietnam. FiveStar began with two in-house installers trained by theCPFilms technical staff. They havecontinued their training efforts andhave tripled their installer head count. Mexico: Our distributor in Monterrey, Solar X deMexico, recently received a request for decorativefilms to improve the appearance of GaleriasMonterrey, one of the newest and biggest shoppingmalls in the city. Mall management wanted to incorporate bright colors and and a unique designinto the glass bridge that crosses between theshops and the parking garage. They also wanted toinstall film on an interior dome that is exposed to the very aggressive sunlight in Northern Mexico. LLumar film was selected due to the quality, colorstability, and extensive product line. Customers arevery pleased with the impressive results of theinstallation. The image of the shopping mall hasbeen enhanced and the solar heat and glare problems have been reduced.

South Korea: The LLumar PrecisionCut System iscontinuing to grow in popularity among LLumar distributors and dealers. CPFK, our LLumar distributorin Korea, recently completed the set-up and operationtraining program for their new system. They are nowcutting trial patterns for the most popular vehicles inthe market. Brazil: Our marketing team in Brazildesigned a new LLumar display forflat glass films. The display was created for point of sale locationswith a high volume of people, suchas glaziers, furniture shops, homecenters, etc. Consumers at theseshops are usually looking for architectural products and solutionsfor their houses and apartments.Having a LLumar product display at these point of sales is a goodopportunity for promoting the use of window film.

The display has five window panels that can be customizedfor each type of shop (i.e. if is a design center the dealer maywant to install decorative films). Theres also a display rackfor literature. Situation: Built in the 1960s by architect Lina Bo, MASP, the So Paulo Art Museum, is oneof the citys premier attractions. Works by the most famous artists of all time can be seen inthe museum, including Picasso, Renoir, Ceznne and many others. Museum managementwas planning extensive renovations to revitalize the buildings appearance and to protect thepriceless works of art, but they did not want to alter the buildings original characteristics.

Solution: Mr. Julio Neves, a renowned architect and also President of the Museum, and Mr. Paulo Duarte, a Brazilian glass industry expert, chose to have a Llumar clear safety film with scratch-resistant coating installed.

Results: The installation has exceeded expectations. Mr. Neves explained, Llumar safetyfilm will allow the same light transmission that was specified in the original project, thus notinterfering with the way visitors will perceive the works of art. The film's UV absorption properties will also provide excellent protection for the exhibits. Mr. Duarte points out otheradvantages: It is so important to know that, should the glass break, Llumar will stop it from shattering and keep the glazing in place. This not only improves the glass safety performance, but also allows us time to get it replaced at our convenience.

Situation: The Forum Palace Sports and Recreational Center in Vilnius, Lithuania, isbeautifully designed with numerous glass dividing walls. The transparent walls provided anopen, spacious atmosphere for the clients, but also created a lack of privacy. Designerswere tasked with enhancing privacy while maintaining the ambience. Each room required a unique design and a creative solution.

Solution: The local LLumar dealer proposed NRMPS2, a frosted film that looks like sand-blasted glass, to decorate the dividing walls. LLumar film was a perfect choice for theproject because it can be cut to any design, by hand or with a computer plotter, andinstalled at a fraction of the cost of acid etching. And unlike etching, LLumar films can beremoved in the event of remodeling. Design and installation was completed in two weeks.

Results: Multilayer designs applied to both sides of the glass walls gave a three-dimen-sional effect that made all rooms unique and stunning, said Architect Mr. Velerij Starkovskij.The owners of the Forum Palace agreed the solution surpassed their expectations. This material can make a statement while still maintaining function, said General Manager Mr. Ronaldas Matiliauskas. Its an inexpensive way to make a large area look customized.
