Log of Updates of DBET EC2 Version 2.0 (1-10-2012) Starting version Version 2.2 (21-11-2012) The extension of the project files has been changed from *.txt to *.DEC2. This allows to start DBET EC2 by means of a double- click on the project file. Old *.txt projects can still be used. The “Key Server” has been replaced by an “Extended Key Server”. This was needed to prepare future developments with respect to ALP. Read the instructions of the setup document to implement the “Extended Key Server” The bug with print results from fatigue analysis has been repaired. Material properties and partial factors have been included in the print document. The computation of k2 for eccentric tension or for local areas in the computation of crack widths has been improved. For x in the expression sr,max = 1,3(h-x) the computed value for the relevant combination of loads is taken. (This was previously the value obtained from the cracked situation at Mr) In the licenseholder.txt file the default qualities for reinforcement and prestressing can be set. The name of the licenseholder is printed in the footer of the print document. This name is taken from the licenseholder.txt file. Minor textual errors have been fixed in the print document. Version 14.02 The method of numbering versions has been changed. The version is now indicated by two numbers separated by a dot. The first number is related to the year and the second number to the month in which this version is released.

Log of Updates of DBET EC2

Version 2.0 (1-10-2012) Starting version

Version 2.2 (21-11-2012) The extension of the project files has been changed from *.txt to *.DEC2. This allows to

start DBET EC2 by means of a double-click on the project file. Old *.txt projects can still be used.

The “Key Server” has been replaced by an “Extended Key Server”. This was needed to prepare future developments with respect to ALP. Read the instructions of the setup document to implement the “Extended Key Server”

The bug with print results from fatigue analysis has been repaired. Material properties and partial factors have been included in the print document. The computation of k2 for eccentric tension or for local areas in the computation of crack

widths has been improved. For x in the expression sr,max = 1,3(h-x) the computed value for the relevant combination of

loads is taken. (This was previously the value obtained from the cracked situation at Mr) In the licenseholder.txt file the default qualities for reinforcement and prestressing can be

set. The name of the licenseholder is printed in the footer of the print document. This name is

taken from the licenseholder.txt file. Minor textual errors have been fixed in the print document.

Version 14.02 The method of numbering versions has been changed. The version is now indicated by two

numbers separated by a dot. The first number is related to the year and the second number to the month in which this version is released.

Known bugs in the interface and print document have been fixed. In the check on cover borders without exposure are ignored. To avoid misunderstanding the diameter of the stirrups is suppressed. This value was only

used for the positioning of the bars. A Δ Ctrans has been introduced at a border in order to include transverse reinforcement

(also stirrups) in the analysis of cover and Kx values. Equivalent strips have been suppressed. The reason is that they do not fit in the case that

borders are curved. A simple alternative is one or more bars with an uncoupled area. The uncoupled area is used in the mechanical analysis and the diameter is used in the analysis of cover and Kx values.

An option has been implemented to account for bond of reinforcement bars in the mechanical analysis of the SLS. (This option is still under discussion)

A number of macro’s of most common sections have been implemented. These macro’s have been subdivided into parts to account for shear and torsion.

Shear and torsion analysis can be performed with the prepared macro’s.

Version 14.10 Minor textual errors have been fixed in the interface and print document. Convergence criteria have been refined to increase accuracy and speed. The layout of some windows has been changed in order to keep (option-) buttons accessible

in case of low screen resolutions. (DBET EC2 has been developed in a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels.)

The offline help has been completed and made up to date. This may help to solve most of questions.

So far no serious errors have been detected. However, there are some topics (e.g. the width of the effective wall thickness in shear and torsion, option for bond ) which are still under investigation. In this version FEMMASSE BV has chosen to select the most unfavorable case for these topics.

RemarkFrom examples of users it has become clear that the feature of uncoupling diameter and area of bars/tendons is not always exploited. This feature is, however, very powerful and efficient, especially in the SLS analysis. It is recommended to take advantage of this feature.
