A new romantic revival

The aim of this shoot was to create a modern day ‘blitz kid’ and create a style in which would be up-to-date

with today’s current trends yet still maintaining the New Romantic uniqueness of style – predominantly

‘drama’ and ‘colour’ were the two aspects we worked with. Using an ensemble of colour out of modern

clothes at hand, colour blocking for a fresher 2012 feel and mismatched together with some clothes made by

us fashion students. The whole blitz kids aesthetic was to make an outfit out of what you had at hand, and

prior goal – to be noticed! Sebastian and Iolanda certainly turned most heads in Central London, therefore

our goal was achieved. Set in central London we wanted a realistic laid back atmosphere; in the street, in the

park which would effectively offset the dramatic clothes. In terms of make-up we opted for a very renowned

new romantic look – the classic ‘adam and the ant’s’ bold white tribal stripe across the nose and cheeks.
