The more than 140 members strive to improve school spirit and attendance at games. Junior Connor Willis said he has valued his time with the organization. “Phanatics has impacted my life at Elon by giving me a community with people in all aspects of the campus,” Willis said. “Whether it’s the athletes, the students in the stands or the alumni that continue to support, Phanatics is something that brings the Elon community together. Phanatics is not only about supporting athletics, but about loving Elon as a whole.” The organization’s treasurer, junior Matthew Mitten, told Elon News Network that the Phanatics experienced growth this year since they were able to take advantage of the Student Government Association’s new funding model. According to Mitten, the organization would still exist without the greater access to funding, but would be limited to cheering in the stands.
