The UC Davis Classroom and Recital Hall is a 17,000

square foot facility designed specifi cally to meet the needs

of the music department and the community as a venue

for the study and performance of music. At the heart of

the building is a 399-seat classroom and performance

venue that has been designed to the highest standards

of acoustical architecture. The building also includes a

green room, studios for music instruction and ensemble

rehearsals, recording studio, practice rooms and offi ces.

A spacious lobby will welcome students and patrons that

can accommodate performances and events.

Building features a Spectator Gymnasium with full

competition basketball court and space for 1100 seats

in retractable bleachers. The renovation of the adjacent

Solano Community College Theater Renovation and AdditionFairfi eld, CA

The renovation of the Solano Community College Theater adds 2,000 square feet and renovates 25,231 square feet of the existing building that currently houses the Music and Theatre Arts programs. Folsom Lake College is the fi rst new Community College constructed in California in 25 years. Serving 15,000 students, the 151 acre campus sits prominently at the crown of a hill, creating an image that accentuates the importance of education in the community. Aspen Hall serves as the gateway to the campus and features instructional classrooms and labs, a Student Services Center for admissions, large lecture hall, and a 150 computer state-of-the-art Learning Resource Center.

The 65,000 sqaure foot Cypress Hall features state-of-the-art classrooms, offi ce and lecture space. The instructional facility also provides dry labs for geology, physics and earth science, as well as wet labs for chemistry and biology. The project also included a 30,000 square foot addition to the existing Aspen Hall Learning Resource Center.

Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake CollegeFolsom, CA

Critically acclaimed by the arts and theater communities, the Harris Center for the Arts

provides a world-class teaching laboratory for the students and faculty of Folsom Lake College, as well as a much needed venue for over 50 regional dance troops, musical acts, theater companies, and other performing arts groups. With fl exibility as the primary design determinant, the facility allows for multiple performances, events and classes to take place simultaneously whether they are educational or public in nature during the day or at night.

The main 850-seat proscenium theater with a full fly tower and orchestra pit accommodates campus and community performances as well as traveling national “road” productions. Complementing the main theater are a 200-seat studio theater and a 150-seat recital hall. These performance spaces are supported by complete scene and costume shops, small and large dressing rooms, green room, director’s studio, drama lab, choral room, recording studio, classrooms, fi ne arts lab, art gallery, and faculty offi ces. The Dean’s suite and Founder’s Room is set in a prominent location adjacent to the main lobby.

The new Student Center serves as the hub for the American River College campus. A central meeting place for students, faculty, and the community, it is a destination that connects the campus’ network of exterior spaces, creating a focal point for student activity. The 50,000 square foot center includes the International Center, student lounge and activity space, dining and food services, campus meeting center, Campus Life & Government Center, Campus Community and Diversity Resource Center, e-services and outdoor activities.

The renovation of the 43,917 square foot space Yuba College Learning Resource Center is the fi rst of fi ve renovations totaling $21 million LPAS is currently providing services for. Scope includes upgrades of interior and exterior finishes, roof replacement, structural and seismic evaluation, mechanical systems upgrade, electrical systems upgrade, AV, Data, Security and fi re/life safety systems upgrade, ADA accessibility upgrades, landscape and hardscape design, and acoustical analysis.

LPAS worked hand-in-hand the District, the Community Colleges Chancellors Office and the Department of Finance to maximize funding of the 50% state match of the bond funding. This was accomplished by an overall assessment of the space allocations, size of the spaces and type to maximize the dollars per square foot allowed for the building and programs.

UC Davis Academic Surge, Davis, CANew $12M, 120,000 sq ft building with classrooms, offi ces, wet and dry labs. Constructed of site-formed concrete, it

was created to satisfy the need for highly fl exible space and the ability to adapt to changing physical and technological

requirements.

UC Davis Silo Student Center Expansion, Davis, CA$5M, 25,000 sq ft expansion to this student center adding food-service, increased student facilities, and a courtyard for

a variety of outdoor social functions.

UC Davis Sproul Hall, Davis, CA$5M, 50,000 sq ft renovation and seismic upgrade of a 1960’s 9-story building constructed of precast concrete. Life

safety and handicapped accessibility requirements were brought to current code compliance.

California State University, Chico, Butte Hall Elevators and Fire Suppression, Chico, CA$1.1M rehabilitation of three elevator cabs including new controls, pulleys, doors and all related components. Also

includes the design and installation of a waterless fi re suppression system for seven existing server rooms in Butte Hall

and Meriam Library.

California State University, Sacramento, Capitol Public Radio, Sacramento, CALPAS is currently programming the modernization of the Capitol Public Radio facility on the CSUS campus, including

a 7,000 sq ft expansion. The project will reorganize the entire operation and expand the news department, add new

broadcast studios, consolidate IT and create an events center for large gatherings and performances.

California State University, Sacramento, Wellness Center Expansion - Concept Sketches Sacramento, CAConcept sketches and cost estimates to develop an expansion for the Well fi tness center. Studies were done to enclose

an outdoor courtyard creating more activity space for free weights and exercise equipment within the building. Analysis

of the existing structure, mechanical and electrical systems was done as well as providing ADA accessibility.

California State University, Sacramento, Shasta Hall Theater Lobby RenovationSacramento, CA$400K renovation of the 1,311 sq ft main lobby and entry to Shasta Hall. Provided new fi nishes and ADA access.

Extensive work was done to the ticket offi ce and concessions stand as well as new lighting and a video displays.

California State University, Sacramento, Olympic Trials, Sacramento, CASite analysis and feasibility study in preparation for the 2004 US Olympic Trials.

American River College Physical Education Modernization, Sacramento, CA$8M modernization including two new single-story additions totaling 27,200 sq ft plus the renovation of approximately

6,000 sq ft of existing space. Includes a new gymnasium, ticket booth, snack bar, relocated building entry, faculty

offi ces and lockers, team rooms, equipment rooms, practice and exercise rooms and a full dance studio with a sprung

wood fl oor.

American River College Learning Resource Center Modernization, Sacramento, CA$7.5M modernization including a 20,000 sq ft addition to an existing 1950’s era building. Includes a new lobby with

counter, large computer lab with small break-out rooms and areas for curriculum.

American River College Instructional Technology Center, Sacramento, CANew $2.3M, 6,400 s.f. space for faculty and staff training. Includes offi ces, training rooms, internet development center,

and multimedia project work areas.

Butte College Library Expansion, Oroville, CA$13.6M modernization and expansion providing an additional 21,000 sq ft to consolidate and expand library

functions and consolidate media services and distance learning program while providing 13 “smart technology”

lecture classrooms and additional faculty offi ces. Includes a 3,700 sq ft faculty area, space for staff development and

technology training and study areas.

Butte College Allied Health & Public Service Center, Oroville, CANew 2-story, $16.2M, 72,380 sq ft housing nursing, radiologic technology, psychiatric technology, fi re and police

technology, and 28 faculty offi ces.

Butte College Chico Center, Chico, CANew 2-story, $10.1M, 54,620 sq ft facility for this satellite campus of Butte College. Many of the classes are continuing

education for community professionals as well as supporting general transfer requirements. Includes food service, a

bookstore and 5,700 sq ft of student services programming with counseling services, administrative functions, career

counseling, and related professional development services.

Butte College Instructional Arts, Oroville, CANew 2-story, $23.4M, 70,432 sq ft state-of-the-art instructional arts center housing 42 diff erent types of instructional

environments. Includes a 200-seat Black Box theater with control room, scene shop, high bay storage, costume shop,

dressing rooms and acting labs. Design-Build delivery with DPR Construction. LEED Gold

Butte College Learning Resource Center, Oroville, CANew 3-story, $15.3M, 72,000 sq ft LRC with interdisciplinary classrooms, computer labs, faculty offi ces, and

administrative functions. Includes a 20,000 sq ft Center for Academic Success which provides student service functions,

computer instruction, and large tutoring areas with adjacent instructional support spaces.

Columbia College Master Plan & Design Guidelines, Sonora, CA270 acre master plan providing a fl exible framework to inform, guide and plan for future campus improvement projects

through 2027. The goal of the Master Plan was to preserve and enhance the unique, forested, Sierra Nevada environment

of the with minimal impact while locating preferred sites for future capital improvements.

Cosumnes River College Faculty Offi ces, Sacramento, CANew $1.8M, 8,600 sq ft faculty offi ce building with 48 private faculty offi ces, a dean’s suite, and a staff workroom.

Folsom Lake College Physical Education Building, Folsom, CANew 2-story, $8.7M, 30,000 sq ft physical education building with large workout spaces for weight training, circuit

training, aerobics, dance, and a large exercise science lab for instruction and biometric testing.

Folsom Lake College Phase 1C - Lilac Hall & Dogwood Hall, Folsom, CATwo new 2-story educational halls totalling $21M and 48,000 sq ft. Features interdisciplinary lab space, faculty offi ces,

lecture, central plant and maintenance areas, and an administration building.

Folsom Lake College Falcon’s Roost Bookstore & Cafeteria, Folsom, CANew 2-story, $5.1M, 22,800 sq ft bookstore and cafeteria building designed to be the heart of the campus. The facility

provides a plaza/‘social-quad’ area that serves as an outdoor gathering space and classroom.

Modesto Junior College Agricultural Pavilion and Agriculture, Environmental, & Animal Sciences Center, Modesto, CANew 2-story, $12M, 74,410 sq ft agricultural pavilion and Agricultural, Environmental, & Animal Sciences center. The long-

span, column-free pavilion features bleacher seating for 1,200 - 1,500 people an earth fl oor for shows and competitions

involving livestock and machines. The educational component includes two classrooms, a commercial kitchen, and one

wet lab.

Modesto Junior College West Campus Agriculture/Animal Barn Facilities & Student Housing, Modesto, CANew $9.5M facility featuring a new 16,919 sq ft beef unit, new 11,050 sq ft sheep unit with lambing area, and seven new

3-bedroom modular living units for students who live and work on the animal facilities.

Solano College Theater Renovation and Addition, Fairfi eld, CA$11.9M theater renovation and addition adding 2,000 sq ft and renovating 25,231 sq ft of the existing building that

currently houses the Music and Theatre Arts programs. Project addresses signifi cant health, safety, seismic, ADA

accessibility, code regulation non-compliance and failing infrastructure facilities problems.

Yuba College Student Services Renovation, Marysville, CA$9.7M renovation and modernization combining two existing buildings at the front of Yuba College. This prominent

“gateway” project increases the overall building area from 27,000 sq ft to 35,000 sq ft and consolidates student services

This circa 1978 existing, 128,000 square foot tilt-up concrete structure, originally designed as part of an R & D offi ce park, was reinvented into a $34M, state-of-the-art data center. The simple box-like structure was transformed into a high-tech facility that conveys movement, security and advanced infrastructure.

Parker Place is an 112,556 square foot, 123-unit market rate apartment project currently in Construction Drawings. The project is a major adaptation of an existing 1 story concrete auto dealership that was original constructed in the 1930s. Within the footprint of the existing auto-dealership, LPAS is designing 2 levels of below grade parking and 4 levels of new wood frame apartment building above the roof line of the existing building.

16 Powerhouse is an infi ll mixed-use project occupying a prominent site at the corner of 16th and P streets in Midtown Sacramento. Designed for LEED Platinum certifi cation (unprecedented for new apartment construction in this region), 16 Powerhouse will be Sacramento’s most sustainable residential development. The project consists of 50 units and 7,500 square feet of ground fl oor retail and restaurant space. Amenities include an open interior courtyard with lounge areas, communal tables, BBQ and fi re trough area, bicycle storage, dog washing and gardening.

On a site that only accommodates about 26 parking spaces, LPAS a parking strategy was designed to allow 50 spaces.

Roughly half the spaces are served by a simple hydraulic lift, stacking vehicles two-high. The other half of the spaces are provided by a state of the art semi-automated system that lifts and slides vehicles. This “lift and slide” system moves vehicles both vertically and/or horizontally to either make a space available or allow access to a vehicle to be driven off .

This infi ll, mixed-use project is located on a quarter acre at the northwest corner of 15th and I Street, and will replace an existing automobile repair shop that exists on the site. The 59,000 square foot project will provide 91 residential units in seven stories. The unit mix includes studio and one-bedroom units with both single-level and loft confi gurations, with open, streamlined plans, providing a cost eff ective urban living opportunity. In addition, the project will provide approximately 2,000 square feet of ground fl oor retail space.

Krush Burger the first Brick and Mortar store originating from the mobile food truck concept that won the Sacramento People’s Choice award for “best burger”. The new 2,600 square foot restaurant is located on the first floor of the California State Lottery Headquarters building and serves burgers, draft beer and Starbuck’s coff ee. The space seats 68 people and features industrial-style architecture with open ceilings, exposed duct work, large screen TV’s, a unique large fan, custom graphics and the reclaimed wood crate fi nishes that make for a warm, exciting place to dine.
