Specializations and Concentrations do NOT appear on the official transcript nor
the degree conferred or official diploma. They are offered to customize your
educational experience and interests. All diplomas and transcripts will reflect that
the degree awarded is the Masters of Business Administration. We can provide a
certificate or letter to reflect that the graduate received instruction with the
specialization or concentration if desired.
Core MBA Courses -24 hours (these are the required courses for all MBA
students):
Acct 701: Managerial Use of Accounting Date
Econ 705: Economic Analysis for Management
Fin 701: Financial Management
ISDS 702: Quantitative Methods in Business
MADM 701: Organizational Behavior
MADM 720: Leadership Communication
MADM 760: Organizational Strategy and Policies
MKT 701: Marketing Strategy
3. Foundation Courses:
BADM 700 and 701 are foundation courses.
o BADM 700: Fundamentals of Accounting and Finance
o BADM 701: Fundamentals of Economics and Statistics
BADM 700 is prerequisite for: ACCT 701, FIN 701, FIN 710, FIN 720, MADM 760
BADM 701 is prerequisite for: ISDS 702, FIN 701, ECON 705, FIN 720 MADM 760
The following courses do not require the fundamentals courses:
MKT 701, MADM 720, MADM 750, MADM 751, MADM 701, and ISDS 705
You are exempt from taking the above fundamentals classes and we will put in
overrides proactively as you are admitted into the program if you:
Do have an undergraduate degree in business
Do not have an undergraduate degree in business but have otherwise taken the
undergraduate courses (Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting,
Managerial Finance, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Statistics).
3
If you meet the above criteria, we will proactively put in overrides for either both of
those foundations classes if you have an undergraduate in business OR if you do
not have an undergraduate in business but have taken the required courses. We can
put in overrides for a single class if you only qualify for one or for both. We review all
newly admitted students for these criteria and overrides in enter them shortly after
admission. You need not contact the coordinator to request that action.
You must take the above fundamentals courses if you:
Do not have an undergraduate degree in business and have not otherwise taken
the undergraduate courses.
To waive from BADM 700 you would need to have taken BOTH managerial
accounting AND managerial finance.
To waive from BADM 701 you would need to have taken ALL 3 courses- Micro
and macroeconomics AND Statistics.
We are required by our AACSB accreditation to check all transcripts.
If it has been some time since you have taken these courses, you are welcome and
encouraged to take either or both of the fundamentals courses as a refresher.
Registration:
We recommend that students who are working full time take only one course per 7
week Session. The maximum course load per semester including both 7 week
sessions is 15 hours.
Accelerated courses:
If you are in doubt, only schedule one course per session until you feel you can handle
two. Students who are not working full time will usually want to take two courses per
session. However, the flexibility of our program allows you to take as many (up to five
courses over two seven week sessions is the max- 15 hours) or few depending on your
circumstances. The fewer you take though the longer to graduation.

also search per session for AP1 or AP2 to see all courses offered each session.
ONLY register for classes that say AP1 OR AP2. Do NOT register for classes
with any other abbreviations or notes. There may be multiple sections with the
same instructor offered and it does not matter which section you choose. The
instruction will be the same in all sections. Pay attention to the final
registration date for classes each session. The coordinator will not add you

I. Academic Honesty:
We take Academic Honesty very seriously at LSUS and in the MBA program and
academic integrity is very important. When in doubt about using citations, paraphrasing
from other published work, whether exams are open book and notes and the like,
please ask your professor or instructor for clarification.
Please be advised some of the courses will require a proctored exam with fees that
range from $15-$30.
* In Spring 2017, a fee for all students will cover all proctoring services and no additional
costs will be incurred.
II. Financial Aid
It is very important to follow the following steps for financial aid approval. If you do not
follow these steps BEFORE the beginning of the semester, you will run the risk of
getting all of your classes dropped for non-payment. If you are dropped for non-
payment, we will be unable to place you back in classes due to the quick turnaround for
the program. It is your responsibility to make sure your finances are in order before the
semester starts.
11
Step 1:
You will need to login to My LSUS and go under the financial aid tab on the top of the
page. You will then need to select Financial Aid Approval.
12
Step 2:
Once you have selected financial aid approval, you will be redirected to the approval
page. You first need to make sure your information is stated on the top of the page. The
semester starting soonest will be located on the bottom of the list. If there is aid that
needs to be accepted, you will see a drop down menu in the accepted column. You
need to change that to yes and then save changes. If you do not do this, your aid will be
held and your classes will remain unpaid.
If you are having any problems with financial aid, please contact them at 318-797-5363.
The coordinator does NOT assist with financial aid awards or concerns, you must direct
your concerns to the financial aid office directly.
