HTMS HoustonDisaster Relief effort
HTMS students and faculty will be gathering supplies to send to Houston to help victims of Harvey. We will need toiletries, such as
soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. and diapers. We will also be gathering school supplies to send to a school in the Houston area at a later date. Boxes will be placed around the school, please bring
items in as soon as possible if you want to help.

Children’s Hospital
Please bring in used G or PG Rated DVD’s for Children’s Hospital.
We will be collecting DVD’s SEPTEMBER 5TH – 15TH
Collection boxes will be in the front lobby and counseling suite.

1788 - The Constitutional Convention decided that
the first federal election was to be held on
Wednesday the following February. On that day
George Washington was elected as the first
president of the United States. In addition, New
York City was named the temporary national
capital.
On September 14th in History
1814 - Francis Scott Key wrote the "Star-Spangled
Banner," a poem originally known as "Defense of
Fort McHenry," after witnessing the British
bombardment of Fort McHenry, MD, during the
War of 1812. The song became the official U.S.
national anthem on March 3, 1931.
