The Overview

M457 is a Salon and Beauty consultancy, which focuses on helping organizations and

individuals build their organizational and individual competencies in sound cosmetology,

nail and barbering management through technical skills development, streamlining

operational efficiencies, increased guest satisfaction, artistic expression and enhanced

service delivery as a strategic weapon to help drive sustainable revenue growth.

In astronomy, the M45 Pleiades, or Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster located in the

constellation of Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster

most visible to the naked eye in the night sky. We believe it to be the metaphor that helps

express our service model. Always stay grounded and close to your guests, help them

release their creative expression or artistic aspirations through accentuating their outer

beauty. If done well our creative genius will be highly recognizable to all.

About the Founder and CEO

Carla Jones is a proven industry leader with over 25 years of cosmetology, nail, barbering

and senior educational leadership experience.

She got started in the cosmetology industry as a technician but quickly realized that she

would add more value to her clients through making her actions scale as an owner verses

just a technician. Never satisfied she decided to open Josef Phillips Academy of

Cosmetology and Nail Technology as a way of not only providing beauty services in the

marketplace but teaching others how to realize their dreams. After demonstrating a unique

ability to grow, and develop talent, she was later recruited by Empire Education Group as a

Corporate Director of Clinical Operations and later became Regional Director of Operations.

She was later recruited by L’Oreal the largest beauty and hair care manufacturer in the world

as Director of Education. Prior to serving in her present position as Campus President at

Fortis College of Cosmetology – Mobile she also served as president of Daymar College in

Louisville, KY.

She is an award winning professional, celebrity stylist, nationally published author and

frequent contributor to a number of print and online media. She received her Master Degree

in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor of Science

Degree from Florida A&M University.

show you how to fix it. At M457 we bring both diagnostic and prescriptive solutions to even

the toughest industry challenges. “Why” because we have been there before. How can you

relate to a professional peer be them a salon technician, owner or campus president if you

have never walked in their shoes? Everyone’s view of the world and their challenges is

based on their individual access to the client they serve or the information they view.

We also realize that if you aren’t directly serving a customer you better be serving someone

who is. You see leadership is not about doing but effectively enabling doers. We don’t

teach tricks or short sighted customer gimmicks, we help you build better business models

to enhance employee development and long term guest satisfaction.
