92 When the paint is dry, remove pieces 1 and 2 from

the backing. Break the joints byinserting the blade of the craft knifein the cuts, then smooth the edges ofthe pieces with sandpaper.

96With a pencil, trace the linesmarked in red and blue to

transfer them onto the hull, holdingthe tracing paper with the green lineof Figure B aligned with the deck.Referring to the drawing, makemarks on the outer edges of thedeck, where the cuts are, on the sideof the hull.

97 Place a piece 1 betweenthe two red lines on the

stern side, in the position shownin the photo. In the part thattouches the hull a small space willbe created, while the other partwill protrude slightly over theblue line.

95If the metal parts of themunitions store touch the

blue line, adjust them by bendingtheir ends toward the stern withpliers. During this operation, takecare not to damage the surroundingmetal parts. It is a good idea towrap the tips of the pliers withadhesive tape.

98 Temporarily remove thepiece 1, and, with

sandpaper, smooth the edge thatjoins the hull, so that the piecefits without leaving any space.File it a little at a time, checkingthe shape against the hull so youdo not remove too much. Also, file the other part that extendsbeyond the blue line.

94 Turn the hull over andposition it as shown in the
