Mary Mackillop’s reflective saying for this week is:
Let us really love one another. 15.9.1890
Dear Parents and Carers,
Cool, chilly, cold! This would describe this week as the weather has decided that winter will start for the year. We expect the students to be wearing the correct winter uniform so please ensure you have checked our uniform requirements for winter. All clothing should be clearly labelled with child's name as well - even second hand clothing.
The weather certainly has been chilly in Dalby which is where I am this week for the Principals' Forum. Despite this, our meeting has been great for collegiality, discussion and focus on what is important in our diocese - the two pillars - academic success for all and to know Jesus. The theme for this meeting is 'Many voices. One Spirit'. I look forward to being able to share infor-mation from this forum with you during the upcoming weeks.
Eleven athletes were competing at the Mac Zone Athletics carnival at the Inglewood SS oval today. We look forward to sharing their results with you - check our Facebook page for some photos.
This week our teachers have been busily completing reading assessments on all students at which we are really excited about the growth shown by them. We are really excited to have some prep students already reading and we are not yet half way through the year.
National Reconciliation week is celebrating this week across the nation. We too, will celebrate our indigenous culture and people with you tomorrow at 2:15 with a whole school liturgy. We would love to see you there.
Next week we will be travelling to Yelarbon SS for an Arts Council Performance and a day of activities. Please return notes to the office by tomorrow so that private transport can be organized for everyone. There is a cost for the performance as well as indicated on the note.
This week's reflective saying is:
"If your compassion does not include yourself it is incomplete.” Jack Kornfield

Per Westman presents two very different characters. Firstly the stagehand - a simple man, shy and out of place, who is forced onto the stage where he confronts his nerves and nerdiness to triumph over all his fears. Secondly the star - cool, calm and confident, ‘the consummate professional’, he craves the adoration of the audience and knows exactly how to get it!
The reluctant stagehand is thrown on stage and told to keep the audience amused, and he certainly does. With the charm of Charlie Chaplin and the persistence of the accident prone Mr Bean, our courageous hero keeps the audience well entertained.
Meanwhile backstage, the minutes tick by as the promoter first locates the star then has him rushed to the theatre. Just when it seems certain the show will have to come to a premature end (after an incident involving our heroic stagehand and a wayward bowling ball) the star ar-rives. The show shifts from clumsy to clever, mayhem to amazing.
