1 УВОД 1.1 Енергетски претварачи и електричне машине Електричне машине су енергетски претварачи, направе које претварају  је- дан вид енергије у други. Енергетски претварачи стварају механички  рад користећи електричну енергију, претварају електричну енергију система са  једносмерним струјама у електричну енергију система са наизменичним струјама, претварају механички  рад у електричну енергију, или трансфор- мишу електричну енергију  једног система напона и струја у енергију дру- гог система. 1.1.1 Обртни енергетски претварачи Електричне машине које претварају електричну енергију у механички  рад називају се електричним  моторима или електромоторима. Машине које претварају механички  рад у електричну енергију називају се електричним генераторима. Механички  рад се најчешће  јавља у виду обртног кретања, тако да се електрични мотори и генератори називају и обртни енергетски претварачи или обртне електричне машине. Процес претварања електрич- не енергије у механички  рад назива се електромеханичко претварање или електромеханичка конверзија. За  разлику од обртних претварача, енергет- ски трансформатори су електричне машине које немају покретних дело- ва и који претварају електричну енергију  једног система наизменичних струја у енергију другог система наизменичних струја. Два система имају струје  једнаке учестаности, али  је напонски ниво другачији услед тран- сформације. У оквиру ове књиге проучавају се обртне електричне машине, електрични генератори и мотори, док су енергетски трансформатори дати у другим уџбеницима. Електричне машине имају струјна кола, које чине изоловани проводни- ци, као и магнетска кола, начињена од феромагнетских материјала. Маши- не стварају механички  рад захваљујући дејству електромагнетских сила на проводнике и феромагнетике који се налазе у магнетском пољу. Услед
