Store all marijuana and CBD products out of the reach of pets. Be especially cautious with edibles.
Keep purses, bags and coats where pets can’t get to them.
Watch pets closely when pets are outdoors to prevent them from picking up discarded marijuana products.
MARIJUANAMarijuana, even in small amounts, is toxic to pets.
Marijuana edibles, such as brownies and candy, can have additional toxicity when made with chocolate, macadamia nuts, raisins, xylitol or other pet toxins.
Second-hand marijuana smoke can be harmful to pets.
Federal law prohibits veterinarians from recommending or prescribing marijuana, in any form, for pets.
CBDThe U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has NOT approved CBD products for use with animals.
The FDA says it cannot ensure the safety or effectiveness of CBD products for pets.
According to the FDA, CBD can cause negative side effects or interactions with other medications.
Due to unclear or conflicting laws, your veterinarian may be unable to recommend or prescribe CBD products for pets.
Contact your veterinarian or a veterinary emergency center immediately.
Provide detail about what your pet consumed and how much your pet weighs.
Do not try to treat your pet at home.
Do not induce vomiting unless directed by your veterinarian.
