    3rd-6th gradeThis class will explore classic fairy tales byinterpreting their deeper meaning anddiscovering how figurative language helpsshape those stories. They will be exposedto vocabulary in an understandablecontext. In addition to their reading andanalysis, they will interpret the storythrough dance, thus connecting theperforming arts with fundamental literacyskills. There will be teacher-choreographedsections, but there is also the opportunityfor some student choreography. Studentswill need to bring comfortable shoes andclothes for dancing, but the stories will allbe provided.
