The Mary Rose Mission expresses God’s love and

compassion within our world by aiding those in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance. The

mission is committed to how it serves others, rather than

how the mission may be served.

Our Vision

To provide one free meal every Saturday and Sunday to everyone who comes to our kitchen with the eventual goal of serving a meal 7 days a week,

365 days a year. Please check our website to learn when we will be

adding additional days.

MISSION - Doing God’s Work

“Motherly Love doing God’s Work”

THREE CURRENT MINISTRIESThe Mary Rose Mission has 3 active ministries as well as having previously operated a hospice

in Covington from 1999 to 2007.

GRENADASince 1996, we have been supporting a

ministry in Grenada. This ministry was initiated by a local priest, Fr. Ed Conlon, who became a

missionary there after retirement. We have assisted in many projects on the island but

most recently our focus has been on assisting with the renovation of St. Martin DePorres

Home for the Aged. We support this ministry with an annual fundraiser every August.

MARY ROSE MISSION KITCHENThe soup kitchen is the newest ministry which provides an evening meal on weekends to

those who are hungry. Every guest is met with a smile and a “so glad to see you!” As each guest leaves, they are asked if they have any prayer intentions. At the end of the evening,

the volunteers gather and read all the intentions and offer them up in prayer.

PRAYER GROUP

At the heart of the Mary Rose Mission is the monthly prayer group. This part of our ministry has been meeting since 1999 and it is where

we pray for the intercession of our Blessed Mother and her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, for guidance and the grace to continue the

ministries in Grenada and Florence. The prayer group is held the 4th Monday of every month at 7:30pm at St. John’s in Wilder, KY. All are

invited to join in prayer and fellowship.

The Mary Rose Mission isn’t just one of these ministries; it is all of them! It was founded by Sandy Rasmussen to “Love as God Loves”, and to serve rather than to be served. The mission provides an avenue for anyone to grow closer to God through service and

prayer.

The Mary Rose mission is staffed 100% by volunteers. Each week, we use over 40 volunteers to staff the office, clean the

kitchen and dining room, perform routine maintenance on our building and

equipment, order supplies, shop for groceries, plan menus, and cook and

serve the meals. We are grateful for all the wonderful people who are involved in our organization and we encourage you to visit our website to discover ways

that you can volunteer as well.
