Working closely with each patient, our team collaborates to create a care plan to meet individual medical needs and lifestyle choices. We strive to provide shorter time to diagnosis and treatment, helping women lead active lives.

...Available in One Place Our patients have one point of access to a multidisciplinary team of specialists who offer a variety of treatments and services. During the initial consultation, patients receive a full evaluation and careful assessment of their medical situation. Our care team helps them understand their choices and find an approach that’s right for them.

Mass General Fibroid Program

Treatments and ServicesAt Mass General, women with uterine fibroids have multiple treatment options. Individualized treatment plans may include close observation by specialists before active management, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures that maintain fertility and minimally invasive image-guided procedures.

Treatments and services include:

• Diagnostic imaging

• Minimally invasive surgery

• Myomectomy and hysterectomy

• Uterine fibroid embolization

• Medical treatments

Our nurse coordinator manages all aspects of patients’ care throughout their course of treatment. She is available to schedule appointments, connect patients to resources and answer any questions.

The Mass General Fibroid Program is a collaboration between the the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center within Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Department of Radiology. The program includes infertility specialists, gynecologists, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons, abdominal radiologists and interventional radiologists.
