Since I read on my second year of university "The World Is Flat" (Thomas L. Friedman,

2005), which describes the example of how Wal-Mart logistics system is organized, I

have become very interested in the logistics and the organization of all the transport of

goods from the factories to end users. One of my goals is to be able to organize a whole

transport system for a company, such as fleet of vehicles and logistic system. This is

why I would really like to work in this domain.

Throughout my degree that I have done in Spain, I have had the chance to take elective

courses most related to the world of transport. Therefore, I have decided to go for a

career in these fields with subjects as Port Management or Traffic and Regulation

    Control.

Recently, I have accomplished my last internship in the Supply Chain department of a

small to medium enterprise, which is located in the north of England. During this time I

could carry out with a colleague the optimization of the supplier database analysing the

different strengths and weakness points of the different suppliers. Although it would

have been easier to get an opportunity in a company related to civil engineering, which

is my degree, I rather preferred to get started in this field. All this means that I am not

applying to this Master without any reason; I have been searching for different Masters

related to the world of transport and Logistics all across Europe. As a result, the Master

that you offer is the only one which includes courses that are not only managerial in

Logistics but also more technical and related to transports from an engineering point of

view. The high requirements needed in order to be graduated at DTU are part of my

willingness to apply. This is mainly due to the fact that I am always striving for

    challenges.

Furthermore, I have always liked to be within an international environment and I

strongly believe that it is a positive experience. This feeling has been reinforced by the

experiences that I have had abroad, especially with an Internship that I did in 2012 in

Tunisia. Over there I had the chance to work with people from different nationalities,

but also different ethnicity and religions. I shared my day to day life with native

peoples, I was also in contact with International students who came to Tunisia with the

same goals as me: get experience in an international environment, strength my

international leadership and improve my communication skills. Another thing is that

during my Erasmus in Denmark I had the chance to work with people from different

European nationalities as well. In this period I worked in an Inter-disciplinary project

related to sustainable drainage, in cooperation with a company, which was really

pleased with the final results due to the fact that we analysed different parameters that

hadn’t been analysed by them before. In my last semester, I worked with some people

who participated in the first project, extending this one and writing a final thesis, based

on the same topic, sustainable drainage and their different methods.

Finally, the time in Denmark has given me the chance to learn a new language. I have

enjoyed learning Danish from the moment I started my semester abroad, obtaining two

levels out of five in 7 months and therefore another of my goals is to improve and learn

this language in order to be fluent with it.
