What is Mathematical Finance?

• Mathematical finance (also known as

financial mathematics) is a field of applied

mathematics, concerned with financial

marketsmarkets

• In terms of practice, mathematical finance

also overlaps with the field of computational

or quantitative finance (also known as

financial engineering)
