Bible Lego Challenge (KJV) A Lego challenge is a fun, hands-on way to learn many different subjects and skills. By using challenges to model concepts and scenes from the book, children will be becoming more intimately familiar with the stories of Jesus, interacting with them on many levels. How to Use the Lego Challenge. You can compete the Lego Challenge at the pace of one challenge a day and finish in about a month or finish challenges at whatever pace best suits your child and family. The goal is to keep it fun while digging a bit deeper into the scriptures with your kids.

For each new challenge, pull out your Bible and read the indicated scripture to your child or have them read it out loud. Discuss which area youd like to focus the challenge on and read that passage again. Your child can choose from one of the suggested challenge ideas or come up with one of their own from a different part of the chapter. Younger children can do their own building or use the drawing sheets to illustrate or write about what they remember from the passage.

PLEASE be sure to use discretion when reading, as there are occasionally some mature subjects covered in scriptures. Skimming ahead or editing as you go may be necessary for the youngest children. Adjust to the needs and maturity level of your child!

Decide ahead of time what the rules are. Can they use materials other than Legos? When must they finish? Be sure to allow them plenty of time to come up with ideas and explore possibilities, and take a picture of the finished product! (I would love to see and share their creations! Just email them to me at [email protected]) It may help to look up pictures of various build projects, but do not give them a model to copy. The results can be as simple or elaborate as your child chooses. Encourage creativity!

Challenge Build Summary. This is a chart listing all of the challenges. You can use the suggested challenges or design your own based on the scripture reading. The Focus column is where our family drew build challenges and copywork from, but dont let that limit you.

Whats in the Bible Plan. The WITB column displays an asterisk for each scripture reading that correlates with a Whats in the Bible reading plan and devotion for kids on YouVersion.com (which is the app for bible.com). The study is called Walk With Jesus: 21 Days Through Matthew. Each day includes a scripture reading and a little WITB video you can watch. In our family we are HUGE fans of Whats in the Bible, owning all their videos, so this was a nice light-hearted study us. You can coordinate this Lego challenge by doing the days indicated by the asterisk. Adding in the other days is optional.

Copywork Pages. There are copywork pages for verses from the focus area for each chapter. There is also a blank copywork page at the end if you prefer to choose your own verses. For the sake of ease of copying, the verses may be abbreviated.
