The book, Dead Man's Patterns, is a form of narrative, arising from the character of English menswear into a book about a man, a pattern, and a tailor. This narrative begins with an ordinary discovery of a set of bespoke patterns originally cut by Savile Row Tailors Dege & Skinner, which belonged to a customer who is now sadly dead. These fragments are woven together to form this unusual story. Very scarce. £80 - £120

The overall height is approximately 50 cm., 38 cm. in length and 25 cm. in depth. The maximum dimensions of the upper & lower plates are 30 cm. by 22 cm. The maximum space between the pressure plates is 14.5 cm. The main frame is secured to the base by means of two metal bolts. The press has an attractive patina clearly derived from use and age. £350 - £450

667'The Flying Duchess.' An autograph Album featuring a letter signed by 'M. Bedford' (Mary Russell - Duchess of Bedford) on 'Woburn Abbey' headed note paper together with a small, accomplished water colour of a sea bird by her on the facing page signed M.B. and annotated 'Woburn Abbey vii. iv. xvi'.
