Attention: The first Sunday in September (7th) Communion will not be served. Communion will, instead, be served at our Homecoming Worship Service on Sunday, September 14th when we will worship at Wakefield High School. See the attached flyer for further details. ************

As we are heading into the month of September, the time has now come for us to refocus our hearts and minds on our great call to worship God through music. Our first 2014 Homecoming Choir Rehearsal will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 12:00pm. All adult music ministry members are encouraged to be present and ALL OTHER CHURCH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE AS WELL. Below you will find important details concerning the 2014 Homecoming Choir. We are inviting you to be a vendor to showcase your products. See the flyer and registration form attached. ************ Homecoming Communion Worship Service is Sunday, September 14 at 9:30am. The service will be held at Wakefield High School. A light meal will be served following the service. Additional details on the attached flyer. ************ Dr. Hamlin accepted invitation to deliver Revival sermon, Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 1401 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA. Choir members, ushers, leaders and members are invites to be in attendance.

Christian Education Update Discipleship Class Facilitators Class Facilitators are needed for the upcoming September 2014 classes. Interested persons must have previously graduated from the discipleship program, or is a seasoned leader or member who is able to teach. This will require a ONE-YEAR commitment, one night per week. All interested persons please see or contact Dea. Gifford and Sister Karen Brown at 703-521-7663 or Min. Tonia Heggs, no later than August 31, 2014. Discipleship Registration 2014 Calling all returning and new Disciples! Registration for the Fall 2014 classes begins Sunday, July 27, through Sunday, September 21, 2014. Join us, as we go back in time to follow the extraordinary journey of Mary and Joseph and witness the greatest birth in history, the miraculous birth of Jesus the Savior! There is plenty of time to make plans to join us and we have an extended period to make your payments so start early. Quincy Park Playground & Sand Volleyball Court Redesign Arlington is getting its first playground that is designed for everyone─including peo-ple with mental or physical disabilities. The new playground is part of the $1.1 mil-lion from the 2014 Parks Maintenance Capital Funds for the redesign and construc-tion of the playground and sand volleyball court at Quincy Park. Share your opin-ion on what features you would like to see at the new playground or what enhance-ments made to the volleyball court.

Space Available at Gunston Preschool—Register Now! Arlington County half-day Creative Preschools are designed to provide children ages 3-5 with their first social group experience outside the home. Emphasis is placed on experiencing age-appropriate recreation activities, being part of a group, cooperat-ing, listening, sharing, developing play and movement skills and discovering nature. Bible Study Schedule 7pm

Each 1st Wednesday will be Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend.

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month will be Pastor’s Bible Study which is open to everyone.

Every 3rd Wednesday of the month will be Men’s and Women’s Bible Study.

Each 4th Wednesday will be Young Adult Bible Study.

The 5th Wednesday of each month will be Leadership Night. All leaders of MBC will meet with Pastor Hamlin.

If you permit them to leave you for restroom breaks, etc., they must return to you at an appropriate time and not be left unsupervised. We appreciate your cooperation.
