MCPS DESKTOP PORTAL – Introduction to Google Apps

1. Accessing Google Apps

A. Login to the MCPS Desktop Portal with your MCPS Username and MCPS Password

B. Click the Google Apps link on the bottom menu bar

C. Click a Google App tile

D. Input your MCPS Email address and click NEXT

E. Input your MCPS password and click SIGN IN

2. Google Docs

A. Docs (Documents)

B. Sheets (Spreadsheets)

C. Slides (Presentation slides)

D. Drive (Cloud-based storage drive)

3. Google Calendar

A. Create calendars and add events

4. Google Drive

A. UNLIMITED Storage for files, videos, photos

B. Access to Google Apps

5. Google Classroom

A. Welcome Screen

B. Click the + sign to create a class

C. Give your class an appropriate name and subject

D. Optional: Provide your students with the class code to Join your class (code is case sensitive)

E. If you share a computer > be sure to log out of Google Apps when you finish

F. Click the pull down arrow next to your name > click Sign out
