Medical Physics and Biomedical EngineeringMRes /

The Medical Physics and Biomedical EngineeringMRes provides structured training in this diverseand multidisciplinary field and students maysubsequently progress to an MPhil/PhD as part of aDoctoral Training Programme.

 Degree summary

The programme covers all forms of ionising and non-ionising radiationcommonly used in medicine and applies it to the areas of imaging andtreatment. The programme involves Master's-level modules chosen froma wide range offered by the department and a research project. Goodperformance in the MRes will lead to entry into the second year of theDoctoral Training Programme where the research project is continued.

// UCL Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering is one of the largestmedical physics and bioengineering departments in Europe, withlinks to a large number of active teaching hospitals. We havearguably the widest range of research of any similar department, and work closely with other world-leading institutions.

// Students on the programme will form part of an interactive network ofresearchers across many disciplines and will benefit from thestrengths of UCL in the healthcare field.
