The immune system

THE NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSIOLOGY OR MEDICINE 2018

The immune system protectsus against infections. It consists of various kinds ofcells and molecules, includingso-called T cells. One funda-mental property of the immune system is that it cantell the difference betweenthe body's own cells and foreign cells, so that virusesand bacteria can be identified and destroyed, for example.
