Mrs. Letticia Sever was chosen to fill the vacancy in Place 3 after the res- ignation of John Cor- reu. Trustees made the appointment at a called meeting held on September 13, 2018. Sever will serve the remainder of Correu’s unexpired term, which lasts through November of 2019. Upcoming Board Meetings Roofing, Access Control and Refinishes Trustees approved a budget amendment of $1.65 million, and then gave consent to projects to provide needed replacement and roofing repairs at Green Valley ES, Watts ES, Wiederstein ES, Jordan Interme- diate, Clemens HS & Allison Steele ELC. Access control upgrades will occur at Schertz ES, Sippel ES and Wiederstein ES. Refinishing of interi- ors and exteriors will be allocated to Wilder Intermediate and Jordan Intermediate. Class Size Waivers Trustees approved the recommendation to request a Maximum Class Size Exception Waiver to the Texas Education Agency for the 2018- 2019 school year. SCUC ISD will request waivers to be allowed to ex- ceed the 22:1 student/teacher ratio in 65 classrooms spanning all eight elementary schools. Clemens HS Furniture/Equipment The recommendation for new furniture and equipment (including installation) for Samuel Clemens High School was given the green light by Trustees. The new Auditorium and Fine Arts area will re- ceive the items, with funding provided by the 2016 Bond.

2018-2019 School Calendar

New Trustee Appointed The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Board Trustees have appointed a new member. Mrs. Letticia Sever was chosen to fill the vacancy in Place 3 after the res-ignation of John Cor-reu. Trustees made the appointment at a
