I joined Mendip as a trainee instructor back in 1995. Today, I am proud to own and run this family business. Whilst we have grown into one of the largest outdoor activity providers in the South West, our core values remain the same today as they were when we first began. Mendip’s personal, bespoke approach is why groups come back to us year on year.

CATERING Whatever your dietary requirements our menus are locally sourced, well balanced and freshly prepared on site in our fully equipped commercial catering kitchen.
ALPINE LOUNGEThe Alpine Lounge is a cosy, roof-top cafe-bar with a large balcony overlooking our snowsport park. Our locally sourced menu, log fire, free wifi and comfortable seating make this a relaxed hang out.
BASECAMP Basecamp is one of our themed multi-function rooms, available for your exclusive use for meals, secure day storage or as a classroom.
CAMP COOKINGUse our bushcraft area and bake potatoes or roast marshmallows and hot chocolate on an open fire. Use our trangias for an authentic, self sufficient, outdoor cooking experience.
Our menus are locally sourced, freshly prepared and packed with all the energy you need for the adventure ahead.

THE MESS LOUNGE - RUSTIC, COMFORTABLE, LOUNGE AREAAt the end of the day relax, and chill out in comfort
ACCOMMODATION VILLAGE Our ten custom designed, canvas bunkhouses can comfortably accommodate up to 120 people in bunks. Bell tents and hike tents provide additional space or accommodation if required.
THE HUB 3,600 square foot canvas servery, dining room and lounge - complete with comfortable soft furnishings and rustic tuck bar.
FACILITIESOur purpose built toilet and shower cabin is a short walk from the camp. Night toilets are situated within the camp.
CAMPFIRECampfires are the highlight of any overnight camp. Our campfire circle has rustic log seating and a never ending supply of fire wood.
EXCLUSIVE USE
Groups always have exclusive use of the entire 40 acre, private, fenced park, the canvas village, campfire circle and the toilet and shower cabin.
The Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of Somerset is home to Mendip’s 250 acre outdoor activity centre, Alpine style snowsport park and our 150 foot high rock sport quarry. Our canvas village, set within its own private 40 acre, fenced parklands, can comfortably accomodate up to 120 people.

INSTRUCTOR TEAMOur inspiring, enthusiastic instructor team are the best in the industry. They have undergone our rigorous in-house training and hold National Governing Body qualifications for every activity, where available.
COURSE DIRECTOROne of our senior team can be assigned to you for the duration of your camp. A dedicated and consistent point of contact empowered to immediately resolve any issues.
TRANSPORTMendip’s fleet of minibuses are PCV registered, regularly inspected and maintained. Every seat has a three point seat belt and our drivers have DVLA PCV licenses.
INSPECTED, INSURED AND ACCREDITEDEstablished in 1978 Mendip is inspected annually by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority. We are proud of our Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, our accredition by the Institute for Outdoor Learning and our coveted Adventure Mark awarded by the Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee. Mendip’s £5 million public liability insurance is underwritten by the Activities Industry Mutual (AIM)

STEP ONE - Get in touchCall our friendly team on 01934 834 877 to have an informal chat about your plans and ask us any questions. We pride ourselves on tailoring every package to your specific needs, learning objectives and budget - it’s always best to meet face to face. You are welcome to have a tour of our centre and try out an activity or we’ll visit you.
STEP TWO - Bespoke packageAfter working together to tailor a package just for you, our experienced team will send you a personalised proposal with all the details, prices, programmes and dates. A no-obligation provisional booking will then reserve your dates and we’ll continue to work with you to fine tune the details.
STEP THREE - Confirm your bookingWhen you are happy with every detail of your package you can secure your booking with a 20% deposit. One of our instructional team can even come and host a presentation evening or assembly and answer any final questions.
